Barry McGuigan vs his protege

Now that Carl Frampton is a feather weight, how would you rate his chances of beating McGuigan at his best.

I vaguely remember Barry towards the end of his career when I was just a young boxing fan and I've watched bits and bobs more recently
I always fancied Carl would do well against Barry, I'm a big Frampton fan and think he'll go on to be fondly remembered by the British boxing public.

But I just watched McGuigan vs Pedroza and I think I'd forgotten how good he really was, he was an absolute buzzsaw in that fight and I could only seeing a huge puncher slowing him down in that mood.
Carl has sting in his punches and is a good technician himself. I wonder if he'd struggle against the relentless pressure, movement and reach advantage of McGuigan.

How do we fancy this one going, if it were to happen?

I'd edge Mcguigan due to him being the slightly bigger guy.
Skillset wise I'd say there isn't too much between them.

It really was. In comparison I'd see Frampton leathered by Eusubio Pedroza.

That's probably one of those times where it's more about styles than levels.
Carl would be at a huge height and reach disadvantage.
Pedroza was a top class fighter but McGuigan had the perfect style and approach to undo Pedroza best work. He also had the reach that negated the obvious height difference

Carl would box Pedroza and most likely lose comfortably.
His style would probably be a better mesh with McGuigan IMO and they would be more evenly matched physically
