Fights that happened, but history kind of forgets them.
I'll start us of with Ali-Frazier 2. All the focus is on the other two fights.

Tommy Hearns v Virgil Hill.
Tommy had such an long & illustrious career & made a habit of winning trinkets at various weights, but his fight with Hill doesn't get mentioned as much as the others; shame really because he put on a tremendous performance at a later stage in his career to take the title off a decent champion.

I agree with that. It was a superb performance from Hearns. I just with that he'd fought Bobby Czyz in his next fight and not Barkley.Syntax Error wrote:Tommy Hearns v Virgil Hill.

As celebrated as Castillo vs Corrales 1 is, I doubt hardly anybody cares about the rematch they had due to the circumstances. I enjoy it as a JLC fan though.

Cornelius Boza-Edwards vs Bobby Chacon II. This fight was on national TV and I think I am the only one who has seen it. Great fight. I believe it's on Youtube.
Norton-Young was a great fight with much more action than you would have thought and nobody talks about it.
Tons of fights before the 1970s:
Patterson's vs Machen
Gunboat Smith beating Sam Langford
There were a ton of great middleweight fights in the 1950s, but if they don't involve Robinson they are seldom talked about. There were a ton of good ones involving Fullmer, Giardello,Tiger etc.

I saw both chacon/boza fights live. Epic ward, just overshadowed by chacon/Limon 4. In spite of being dropped twice thought boza won the rematch.

Me too.
Wilfred Benitez UD Roberto Duran.
I know Duran had underperformed vs Leonard but he beat Davy Moore a year later then shined vs Hagler, so it's a big win for Benitez.
