Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
I wish he'd give it rest about Khan.
Khan is old news, and although he might still have something to offer, he needs to prove it first.
He's barely had a career at 147, yet Hearn keeps talking about him like he is relevant.
Brook should be looking at bigger fishes than Khan, especially in a division that is brimming with talent.

Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
That's all he ever bangs on about. He's so desperate for the payday that comes with Brook fighting Khan that he won't let it drop. It's borderline stalking st this point
Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
Hearn should SFTU about Khan and get Brook to sign that contract for the Vargas fight.
Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
Hearn still moaning about Khan is pathetic. It reinforces the idea that Brook is just not prepared to fight top guys. They are desperate to slot in Khan beat up before Spence closes in on his ass.
Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
Hearn should show Khan some respect.
Brook is nothing compared to Khan.
If they stopped badmouthing him then the fight might happen.

Spence could be fighting Brook next but his team didn't want it.Tarkus wrote:Hearn still moaning about Khan is pathetic. It reinforces the idea that Brook is just not prepared to fight top guys. They are desperate to slot in Khan beat up before Spence closes in on his ass.

Perhaps but when IBF makes it a mandatory it wont be Spence who withdraws.BigDoofus wrote:Spence could be fighting Brook next but his team didn't want it.Tarkus wrote:Hearn still moaning about Khan is pathetic. Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
Spence would get the short-end of the purse as mandatory. Haymon has kept his fighters away from Brook. I can see Spence going another route.Tarkus wrote:Perhaps but when IBF makes it a mandatory it wont be Spence who withdraws.BigDoofus wrote:Spence could be fighting Brook next but his team didn't want it.Tarkus wrote:Hearn still moaning about Khan is pathetic. Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
Hearns a helmet and Brook seems to talk a very good fight. Why hasn't he signed the Vargas contract? Very quiet on that front. The guys willing to come over here for a unification! What more does he want? Forget Khan and move on. Vargas is a harder fight then look to fight Thurman if successful. I'm a fan of Brook and perhaps if he had a bit more bottle/ambition he'd be one of the top guys p4p but it's all getting a bit tedious now.
Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
Hearn is in it for the money and Khan who is probably damaged goods now would follow a maximum reward moderate risk type model of paymentSyntax Error wrote:I wish he'd give it rest about Khan.

Plus with Hearns notorious hometown judges, you know brook could shutout khan over 12 and the judges would still have been told to make it a split decision win for brook....than he and Adam Smith would bang the drum for a rematch and more money.
Brook won the title in a proper way .....he needs to start defending it now like that.....its high time. He needs to fight a Thurman or Garcia asap
Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
Brook destroys Khan and they know it.

Still no respect for Khan.

Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
Bold statement and could be true. However when you're dicking about over a few quid for fighting someone like Jessie Vargas, coming off frankie Gavin and Kevin bizier, whilst your nemesis had the nuts to take on a middleweight you really can't call the shotsG0mez wrote:Brook destroys Khan and they know it.

We both know he took that fight for the money. And we likely both forecast he would be splattered and then scraped off the canvas, and he was.
Matt Hatton fought Canelo and Brook and went the distance.
Matt Hatton > Amir Khan

Except that Matthew Hatton isn't better than Amir Khan is he?G0mez wrote:Nuts is the right word Wrists mate.

He's just got a better chin.

If Khan fights Brook and gets knocked out then that will give you your answer wont it ?Horse wrote:Except that Matthew Hatton isn't better than Amir Khan is he?

Yep, I suspect Matt Hatton has a better chin than Khan.
The wider point though is that Hearn and brook have been and continue to be disrespectful towards Khan with little right to do so.
When you fight the Kevin Biziers of this world in the back of jo jo Dan and frankie Gavin (good fighter but not world level) you really can't have a pop at a guy who at the last count has fought kotelnik, mallignaggi, Judah, Peterson, maidana, canelo, Diaz, Alexander, Garcia and collazo, all of which shawn porter aside are MILES better than anyone brook has fought.
I actually think brook knocks Khan out. But the fact remains brook needs Khan more than the other way around and the attitude of those involved should reflect that.

But for me, I'd generally say that pro boxing has little to do with respect - it's about risk and financial opportunities. When they dont want the fight, suddenly its all about "respect" which isn't true. All proper fights have a beef - and they settle the beef.
Kotelnik "worst champion in the world" - Khan's words, That shot was bought for him, to get a belt at 140.
Malignaggi - handpicked for US debut because he couldn't crack an egg
Judah - got a gift against unfashionable Mattysse and then went on to lose to Malignaggi (see Marco Barrera)
Peterson - handpicked and he lost
Maidana - whom had to sack his own manager because he was in cahoots with GBP to be kept away from Khan and petition WBA
Canelo - sparko
Diaz - dropped and looked awful
Garcia - Sparko
I'd pick Shawn porter over all of them accept Canelo due to size, and even then he'd probably put up a better fight than Khan.
We can go round the houses all day, but the conclusion is Khan cannot face losing to anyone in the UK. Kell Brook would crush him - infact Matt Hatton said he's as big a puncher as Canelo was.
Team Khan are self-interested on every level. It's not about us, the fans or boxing in general.
If Brook had just 2KO wins on his unbeaten record, they'd rip their hands off for a 60/40 split of a Wembley date.
Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
Laughable. Why don't you do the same for Brook's record?G0mez wrote:I take on board what you are saying Wrists,

Khan's record pisses all over Brook's.

Re: Hearn still waffling on about Khan
If Khan and Brook both retired today then Khan would go down in the history books as the better fighter.
Brooks record is nowhere near the level of Khan. I said in another thread there is no one in world boxing who needs a named opponent more than Brook, win or lose.
