Bradley Skeete vacates Commonwealth title for WBO honours
Reigning Commonwealth welterweight champion Bradley Skeete has informed the Commonwealth Boxing Council that as he is unable to make a defence in the near future he has voluntarily vacated the title.
Mandatory contender Cameron Hammond of Australia has been given the opportunity to make a match against another suitable contender for the vacant title.
Skeete is instead pursuing WBO honours.

Can you imagine if Skeete got the Vargas fight before Brook
......
If not I guess Warrens plan is for Brook to beat Vargas and then he has to either fight Skeete or Spence Jnr. That or give up the belts and move up to 154 with FW claiming Brook ducked Skeete which would actually be fornicating hilarious

Thats what i meant,he'll be concentrating on defending that against poorer opposition, although i read the interview and he said he wants to go down the WBO route but also wants his Lonsdale for keeps which means he still has 3 defences to make so..?leejonesjnr wrote:Huh? I read the interview a few days ago so cant remember his exact reasons for vacating the Commonwealth, maybe they wanted him to fight one of their mandatories???

I wouldn't be surprised if the vacant commonwealth title fight ended up in Scotland with the Australian fighting Mike Towell possibly in Dundee. Only a guess.

He's definitely banking on getting a vacant title shot when kell moves uplefty wrote:Can you imagine if Skeete got the Vargas fight before Brook......

Re: Bradley Skeete vacates Commonwealth title for WBO honours
Will be mikey Towell but can't imagine it being in Dundee.
Re: Bradley Skeete vacates Commonwealth title for WBO honours
You heard something about it? Joke if he's getting the shot ahead of at least a dozen fighters that are more deserving of it.JamieM wrote:Will be mikey Towell but can't imagine it being in Dundee.
Re: Bradley Skeete vacates Commonwealth title for WBO honours
Tommy will get that fight for mikey 100%. Everybody in boxing knows that Tommy is in with the commonwealth and his most famous example was with lee Mcallister who he managed to get the shot. We'll find out on the 13th when the board notices come out and if they withdrew from the dale Evans fight. The fight though in my opinion won't happen in Dundee as Tommy is arrogant and refuses to work with ex fighters and for me they can't stump
The money up and risk that show without Ronnie on it. Hence the reason mikey has had broken promises for the past 18 months of a fight here.
