Outside of being a boxer....what is the best job to do in the industry?

I'd be quite keen to do something like what Kugan from iFLTV does, he's well involved in the British scene and gets access to 95% of what goes on. Apart from the amount of travelling he must do, he's got it pretty good I think.

He only went and set himself up off his own bat as far as I can make out. I wonder if he has a day job or a profession as he’s an articulate guy...surprised he doesn’t have a persona on here actually.
His style is nice and personable, no airs or graces and for instance was very delicate and sympathetic with that middleweight who got beat last week.
Only time he let himself down for me was once or twice with Fury where he indulged the boxer for far too long as he directed various abuse and profanities. And I’m a Fury fan the rest of time.

Mick Goodhall seems like a good guy to me. I think he must be a good cog to have in your wheel. Bags of experience too.

Assuming it is an actual business where they offset the costs, love to see what the bottom line is before tax and salary.

Curious to get a good conversation going.....

Would you like to have the £$$ of a promoter and all those headaches? Like them or loath them, they do work hard and must have a challenging role?

Would you like to be a trainer, struggle with making ends meet some days then your next world champ walks through the door meaning you get paid some decent purses for a few fights until they leave you?

Perhaps a cuts man, not too involved to worry about the politics but still well inside the boxing world to know what goes on?

So what job would you like to do which involved being within the boxing world apart from being a fighter?

I think that being a promoter on the whole has to be one of the worst jobs to have.
Few promotions really make any money so the majority of promoters who have money probably have less than they would if they weren't losing it putting events on.
If you are not one of the couple of big promoters then you have the risk of having your best talents taken away as soon as they reach a decent level and are about to start making returns on your investment in them.
The more I think about it the more surprised I am that the sport is still in such good health.

I love my job (ring announcer) doesn't matter if it's 16,000 at the O2 or 300 at the Cleland Miners social club it's a great buzz playing a part in the action. Plus you get to meet people you would ordinarily never get close to.

Buffer's a cool guy to be around and not at all precious, IMO the only ring announcer who will ever be a celebrity, thanks in a big part to the phrase. Even non boxing fans know who he is

Mike Goodall is one of the hardest working men in boxing. Work outs, press conferences, weigh ins, fight nights, there he is, setting up the ring, stage, backdrop, PA system etc. Always first to arrive, last to leave then in the van & off to the next one. Drives everywhere, even down to Monaco on occasion.
