I don't think GGG vs Eubank Jr will happen, it's just a promotional gimmick from Eubanks

Well, I guess we will have to agree to disagree. Selling out Wembley requires two things, a fight of huge local significance, and a fighter from London, to sell it out.

What was the last fight to sell out the old Wembley stadium before Froch v Groves?
I didn't say that the would sell out Wembley. Just pointing out that it is hard for a British boxing fan not to know who GGG is.

I can't wait for them to leave Matchroom after fighting another British level opponent and for Hearn to expose them, I am certain they don't want this fight. It would have been signed by now IMO.

If Eubank Jr doesn't sign, he's a clown. If he does, he's brave but will be KOd early. He's too open.

bear in mind the amount of contracts needed for this fight, 1 for eubank, 1 for GGG, 1 for HBO and 1 for sky all flying back and forth, have a bit of patience and hopefully we will have a big fight on our hands

That happens in all big fights... No different to Sky UK and RTL Germany.

Not true unfortunately, I've had to explain who GGG is to many people with a passing interest in boxing - the type who knew all about Mayweather, Pacquiao and Roy Jones, as well as Aussie fighters like Green, Mundine and Geale and past fighters like Tszyu, Lewis, Tyson, Holyfield etc. That said, those same people probably don't know who Canelo is either, and he's currently the biggest name active fighter in his prime.

Thankyou. People severely overestimate how well known boxing stars are.

How would anybody know who GGG is, how many column inches have there been about him? As far as I know the only place you can see his fights has been allegedly, which relatively speaking has a tiny and specialist user base.

Jeez,

I've seen it all.

What's going on in this world?

That's simply disgraceful from the Eubanks, especially after the Canela debacle.

I hope Saunders loses his belt to Canela, and then Eubanks will be left out in the cold.

Hardly anyone in the UK knows who Jr is, let alone GGG, it's not a Wembley fight.
I think it would do very well. Jnr is well known imo his name alone is enough plus you then have the Blakwell fight that got spoken about and had alot of coverage hes been on a few of AJs undercards and its the casuals that follow him that would go to Wembley for a 'stacked' card. Hearn would roll out the usual Benn ect and then have either Degale or brook in a tittle fight on the bill as well. Plus I think GGG is one of the best know fighters in this country that a lot of people have never seen fight but like to call the best just because theyve heard people talk about him.
You people are nuts. There are two fights that would do Wembley: Joshua vs Haye and Joshua vs Fury, but Haye's recent pathetic opposition and Fury's apparent lack of commitment and crossover appeal mean that booking the venue for either of those fights would still carry a degree of risk for a promoter unless they had actual genuine stacked undercards (say Groves vs Degale 2 as chief support) to guarantee the sell out. Brook Khan would not sell it out despite Hearn trying to convince people it would. It is huge venue for a boxing match. I find it hilarious that people just think Wembley is this natural venue for big fights. Andre Ward thought he could just come over and do Wembley if he fought Froch. He couldn't and he wouldn't. 80,000 is a HUGE crowd for a boxing match. The 02 feels big when sold out. Froch-Groves 2 really was something else. I'm sure I will see another fight there, but it is going to have to take something really special.

At last, some sanity.

Few fights have sold out Wembley, or even been staged there. I think before Froch, the last fight there might well have been Henry Cooper.

So Froch Groves sold out in minutes neither were massive names outside of boxing before the fight. And you honestly think any promoter would consider it a risk to book Joshua Haye for Wembley the two of them can pack out the o2 fighting nobodies both have massive crossover the fight would easily sell out. And if Froch Groves did I see no reason Khan Brook wouldn't

They don't pack out the 02 fighting nobodies there there were plenty of seats left unsold at both the last haye day and the Breazeale fight. And the capacity of the 02 is 20,000, a quarter of wembley. And the Breazeale fight had a very good undercard fight in Groves-Murray. for whatever reason Froch Groved 2 was absolutely massive, and it is easy to forget that and assume every fight with public interest will replicate the feat. It won't.

The fact that Groves was a Londoner, and the first fight had a controversial ending were massive factors.

Plus the genuine dislike and amount of promotional work they did was excellent.
I think the O2 at 20,000 is a massive venue in itself and bigger than anywhere else in the world is selling a fight out for, to quadruple that takes some effort.

Having said all that, the general public will recognise Eubank Jnr's name even if they don't recognise his face. My Mrs will have an idea who he is despite having no idea about Anthony Joshua even.
