Canelo hid like a weakling from Golovkin. That's all we need to know about Saul Alvarez. Not a true champion, never was.

Canelo is the Draw, with whomever he fights ( outside Mayweather)

he could have chosen anyone and made crap ton of money

GGG taking this fight, IN LONDON, isnt the same as Canelo- not by a longshot

oh and how many 140lbers knocked out Brook? and how many Amir?

Wow, this is kind of disappointing.
Well Golovkin always puts on a show no matter who's in front of him and noone can argue that.

Am I the only person who thinks Brook will be a tougher fight than Eubank would have been?

Golovkin should not be fighting welterweights, and he should be criticized for doing so.

Maybe true. But look at the history of the middleweight division. Many times the welter champ has stepped up to face the middle champ. Of course in this era with light middle division and abc belts it is perhaps a little less justified.
At the end of the day i'm sure this was the best pay day for ggg, and the people get what they are willing to pay for.

In my eyes, about equal. Brook may do better than most think. I think it will be competitive until Brook gets KO'd late.

GGG will be criticized for fighting a welterweight, and rightfully so. There are at least a few junior middleweights that would have taken the offer, except for Canelo that is. Even though a win/win situation for Brook, got to give him credit for stepping up.

Not thrilled about this one, although I don't think the size disparity will be as much as it was for Canelo-Khan.

Brook is a huge WW, fought at 154 several times, and has actually competed at MW before. He's not a skinny, former lightweight who isn't even big for 147.

GGG should be fighting Canelo or Jacobs or Saunders or Eubank but it takes 2 to make a fight. Brook came to terms in 24 hours. Disappointing but it gives those MW weights a few months to grow a pair (except Canelo of course, nothing growing there for at least a year and a half if ever).

I'm sure Tom will be knocking on doors again in mid September to try to get a MW to agree to fight for the No.1 spot.

GGG v Kel is a joke. Eubanks are full of shit. Special needs props for this, but will be battered.

Let's be fair, GGG is probably the best middleweight since Monzon.

Awful fight and shameful.

He tried to get Canelo, BJS and Eubank Jr in the ring, he's fighting brook because the date is available and there's a PPV booked.

Canelo is a big ginger faggot.

Canelo should face criticism for ducking real middleweights and taking on Khan
GGG should be criticised for taking on Brook, a welterweight.
But the circumstances are different, as I sincerely doubt GGG has ducked anyone to take this, the best offer he had on the table was Eubank jr as the top middleweights won't face him and the fight he really wants is running scared.

But to be fair, I'm not too fussed what they do, all I know is the Brits have absolute balls of steel. Khan was the brave one in the Canelo fight, Macklin fought GGG, Murray fought GGG, Eubank pursued the fight no one else at MW wanted, now Kell Brook has agreed to step up 2 divisions to fight the most dangerous fighter on the planet and will almost certainly get starched inside 4 rounds for his trouble.

I criticise the match making in this country at times and we have 'world level' fighter not getting the best opponents, but you can't knock some of our boys for taking the big challenges when the opportunity presents itself!

GGG beats everyone at 160. Keep them coming and Canelo keep a running.

Khan got KO'ed and knocked around by 140 pound fighters.
Khan was already damaged goods before the Canelo fight.
Khan can't beat the top 20 guys from 140 - 154, and would get stopped by most of them.

I would also rather GGG fight at least one of these guys at 154 who are looking real good.
Or even a 168 pound fighter at 164.

But that's another story ... for now, just remember, as of July 2016 ...

Not many criticized Alvarez...it was ballsy of Khan. Now Alvarez won't step up, thats why he gets criticized.

Memories are so short on here, so many people criticised Alvarez and commended Khan's bravery.

I guess the difference is that Alvarez has form for beating up smaller men- going back to the small Cotto and Josesito Lopez and onwards- whereas GGG doesn't. So I guess GGG gets more of a pass which is fair enough IMO.

also on their actual sizes, it's yet to be seen but I don't think there will be much difference in the ring between brook and GGG whereas khan was blatantly going to be dwarfed by about 10lbs

Similarity:
Both GGG and Canelo are fighting a smaller guy
Differences:
Kell Brook is undefeated, Khan had 3 losses
Kell Brook never been stopped. Khan has been stopped in all but 1 of his losses, hurt by guys who aren't even punchers.
Kell Brook is arguably one of the 2 guys to beat at welter. Khan would be almost a contender/gatekeeper at 147.

Khan is a glass chinned fighter who got knocked out at 135 and 140.

Brook is undefeated and has never been down in his career.

Brook is a World Champion.
