Brook is The Man

Post by Chepppaaa »

when all those us duckers and trash talkers were doing blablabla, but not showing up for a dance with ggg, only one uk man took the challenge. shame on floyd, canelo and all them other talkers. thurman never mentioned brooks name and danny is also only talk, no walk.

brook has balls and i respect him for that and by the way, the dude is super athletic and if he can gain some power with the weight gaining, than hell yeah he got some chane in that one. ggg will certainly win, but brook is an athletic unbeaten champ and no amir 0,0 chin khan, brook can ud ggg.

Brook really has nothing to lose here. If he's beaten nobody will be surprised, and he'll still have his Welterweight title.

It is! He is referring some posters on here that claim Brook was scared to fight Spence and would do everything he could to not face Spence

No different from Khan Canelo imo. Pimping himself into a fight he can't win for the pay day.

As big as Khan when he faced canelo? Idk I don't live in the UK so I don't know how big of a name he is there. But I know here in the US Khan is more well known. But more people are beggining to know who brook is too. But I'd say Khans guaranteed pay (without ppv cut) was higher than what Brooks will be based of his and canelos star power compared to brook and GGG.

People say that, but being brutally knocked out on live tv and possibly sustaining some long term injuries ... really is something to lose. It does seem kind of dumb by brook who i know some here consider as the best welter in the world.

Unlike Khan Brook has never been beaten so I'm sure he thinks he has a shot. I can't make a case for him at the moment though. Khan thinks he's better than he is so he probably thought he had a chance against Canelo.

A lot of folk seem to be forgetting that Brook is the best GGG has faced and vice versa. I don't think Brook pimped himself into the fight as Hearn was already negotiating for Eubank and apparently he was offered a contract. It's a bit strange that Vargas said he signed his end of the deal for Brook over a month ago though? Perhaps Hearn has sold Eubank up the river?

I think Brook is the best welter in the world but I've questioned his bottle in the past. Obviously that can't be disputed now. You have a point though. On paper it seems like a no lose situation but if he takes a sustained beating will he be the same fighter afterwards? And the fight is at 160 so I can't see him going back to 147 regardless. If he did try 147 again it would be a dangerous move especially against Thurman or Spence who will be mandatory for the IBF.

Disagree about Brook being the best GGG has faced. Maybe p4p wise but that's like saying if GGG faught Rigondeaux he'd be his best opponent. Golovkin has cleaned out 160. Brook would lose to a few of those middleweights that GGG beat on size alone. Brook vs Rosado/Lemieux/Murray/Geale etc. Too big.

Brook is a big welter and will fill out quite well making 160. It would be better if it were a catch weight. Brook is vastly more talented than those guys you mentioned and I reckon he'll surprise a few people with his performance in this fight. I can't make a case for him winning but he should pose a few problems. The four guys you mentioned were just there to survive.

I give Brook ups for stepping up in sharp contrast to another well known fighter that made an ass of himself recently in regards to a Golovkin showdown.

And I agree with the poster above that wrote about how Brook would lose to many of the top middleweights that Golovkin has defeated.

That is why Brook deserves credit for moving up to face the seemingly invincible and consensus no 1 middleweight of the world and possibly the best middleweight of the last 30 years or so.

One that is near breaking Hopkin's title defenses record and could be considered the no 1 pfp best fighter today to boot.

I agree.

Even when Brook steps up he does it in a yellow way.

I can't stand this guy, he's terrible.

He's scared of the fairly bad risk vs reward ratio, so he runs off and fights someone who he can lose to without losing as much credibility.

This is a faux-brave move and I'm not falling for it.

Great, so he can use this fight to avoid all of the interesting fights that people have wanted to see him in for years.

Golovkin should be fighting Lara, not Britain's biggest bore.

Brook has a title and a huge British following. Lara brings nothing to the table, though I would also prefer that fight.
