Problem with Sr, as has always been, is that he overestimates his own intelligence. He likes to think of himself as some sort of intellectual titan, but he isn't.
He confuses verbosity with intelligence.
Half the time you can't even work out what the hell he's trying to say, more often than not because he doesn't have anything of much import to say, or if he did, by the time he's gotten to the end of his sentence, he's forgotten what it is.
He brings entertainment but from my own POV its just to laugh at him

He wanted higher ticket and PPV prices so Jr's package was guaranteed at 4.8m.

I'm sorry, but they never wanted the fight.
Those are totally unrealistic demands. They'd have ended up with piss poor PPV sales and a half empty stadium.
It's not like Jr has a huge following and GGG is far from well known here.
I think they just deliberately priced themselves out of it, but it's going to backfire, because it's damaged Jr's reputation. Who in gods name will want to deal with his crackpot father after this debacle?
Re: Eubank Jr
I think most people who following boxing knew that the Eubanks had no intention of fighting GGG.
Junior is still young - They will just wait for an easy belt holder to fight. And just using GGG's name for publicity.
Eubank snr has always been a bit of a plank. He may try to sound intelligent by quoting other people's wise words ... but anything original that comes out of his mouth is almost always nonsense.

Re: Eubank Jr
Has Hearn has now said that they wanted to control everything purses, the undercard, security, hotels, matchmaking, in fact the whole event, not to mention increasing tickets prices to unreasonable levels. To be honest when heard Eubank sr blame Sky, by saying that the first dollar that drops should go to Jr, not Sky, showed he was going to make things difficult.

Senior repeatedly used that exact phrase however I still do not know what he meant as he never went into any detail.Anzi wrote: heard Eubank sr blame Sky, by saying that the first dollar that drops should go to Jr, not Sky, showed he was going to make things difficult.
Re: Eubank Jr
The whole thing does;nt suprise me ,, I;m actually suprised tghat most people believed it in the fiorst place ,, I posted a couple weeks ago it will not happen ,, I said then Senior was going to chase the Lonsdale belt , gain more experience , wait for GGG to get old or chase a minor belt in a coule of years ,, and GGG was just a ploy to get people associating a slighty above domestic level fighter with the big names ,, He's done a marvelous job , but the chances are he burnt his bridges , but to be honest , he knows jnr will always generate interest , and money , which will generate promoters to forgive , HAS long has he keeps winning .
What i do think snr will be pissed about is he got outsmarted , I think Eddie has been in negotiations with Brook to step in since the begining ... Hence why Brook has never signed for his fight ,, not enough money my arse , a big fight (GGG) with no chance of losing the belt was always on the cards,, It just took negotiations with Brook to accept whats on offer to jnr , hold back on signing for his own fight ,, and wait for seniour to start playing games and making demands .. If Eubank would of signed with no games ,, Brook would of signed for his fight .

As you say, Jr will trade on his name, which is wise, because he's never going to be the best guy in the division. He'll probably beat BJS in a rematch, but then what? Wait for GGG to get old and retire maybe, or try and get him when he's nearly 40 and past his best, like Hatton with Tszyu?
I have a feeling though that GGG is going to be around a while yet, he has real economy of effort, and serious skills that don't rely on reflexes. I think he's like Hopkins, even past his best physically, he'll have too much for the young pretenders, unless someone with real gifts emerges. Jr isn't that guy. It will take a Michael Nunn type, who can move, box and punch in equal measure, and I don't see anyone like that on the horizon.

Re: Eubank Jr
I think matchroom could do with him and his dad the way they try to take control of everything. Let the promotor promote and the fighter fight its as simple as that, jnr has now lost the chance of making millions and will probably defend the lonsdale for a grands instead,id be fumin but id be aving a long hard chat with daddyo about how HE lost me my millionslefty wrote:I

It will be a big anti climax if he just defends his British title again after chasing GGG.
Does he pursue the BJS fight?
Re: Eubank Jr
Its boxing . And if jnr's record is still there, so is the fight , its amazing how old foes become freinds and past discreprencies get forgoton when theres a few million dollars involved ..
Jnr will propably beat Saunders down the track , or rather Saunders will beat himself , his conditioning for a world champ is dismal to say the least ,, Give Eubanks 3-4 more fights and a bit more experience on how to apply pressure from the start ,,, whilst at the same time BJS remaining fairly inactive , and Jnr will win
Saunders will beat himself , while he's looking in the mirror practicing , tell ya what Kugan ,, Listen Kugan its like this , getting fatter , playing with his horses and telling himself , Franks done ok by me i don't need the money ,,,, Jnr will be training to take his title
Snr knows the game inside out and he's done alright for jnr up till now , He knows its a publicity game and he's always played it to the limit ,, ask anyone and imean anyone who is the most famous 10 boxers in Britain , i' would say most will include chris Eubank , and to be honest he never even fought the best in his division ,, Jnr 's carreer is going to map out the same way

Re: Eubank Jr
He could've started as quickly as he wanted, he would have still lost the opening six rounds. Saunders stamina was as much to blame for him losing rounds as Eubank waking up.jamesmcdonnell wrote:He'll start quicker and win. Re: Eubank Jr
100% correct Billy Joes stamina or lack of it , let jnr back in the fight when it should of been a shutout ,,, But BJS had the time , to train hard and come in at peak condition and he did'nt ,, given what he knows now , a few more rounds under his belt and i can see Jnr really putting the pressure on in the early rnds , ready to get him gassing earlier ..He can do that of that i'm 100% sure .mickey1975 wrote:He could've started as quickly as he wanted, he would have still lost the opening six rounds. Thing is can Billy Joe improve his stamina , when its always been a problem , that i'm not to sure about , to do it he would need a different training regime and possibly a different trainer , can't see that happening either .. Basicly i think Billy Joe is at his best NOW ,, Jnr will be at his best in 12 months or so

He should swallow his pride, slap his dad, fight the chief support on the GGG-Brook card and call out the winner.
Him and his team are the only people to blame on this.

Re: Eubank Jr
In terms of UK exposure, Sky is the place to be. Eubank simply has to be on the channel, they will both know that.

totally agree .Oiky wrote:I think billy joe will always outbox Jnr. Jnr too reckless simply put
IN MY OPINION it had little to do with starting slow and more to do with jnr could not get in to the first 6 rounds of that fight because BJS was far to skilled an sharp for him an not to mention set a ballistic pace on Jnr, it wasn't until BJS slowed down that he was allowed to share some of the rounds , it was BJS fitness that allowed Jnr in to that fight,if BJS is fitter in a rematch between the two BJS will win all 12 rounds instead of just 8 .jamesmcdonnell wrote:

I fink Jnr is a fighter thats style is flattered when facing someone thats easy to hit ,anyone that can move an box will beat him easy enough imo .
Re: Eubank Jr
Based on what I have seen and read eubank jnr would of got life changing money to fight Ggg, never bite the hand that feeds you... even if he had got paid less than he expected if he really believed in himself he would of earnt loads more if he won after the.ggg fight. Buster Douglas did not get.paid that well I believe.against Tyson correct me if I am wrong? but he sure got very well paid cs holyfield. Whatever has or has not happened in Kell brooks career massive respect for not mucking about.taking a proper challenge taking on a great fighter in Ggg and I am sure he will do well. Let's get behind brook !
