Unofficial commissions l
MBC was included in the commissions boxrec was not updating records at present. Has the meeting happened yet? If so what has come of it? Will MBC shows get up dated any time soon? Thanks

MBC shows in the UK will not be updated (to my knowledge). Only the BBBofC is recognised by Boxrec in the UK and they do a splendid job.DecastroBoxer wrote:MBC was included in the commissions boxrec was not updating records at present. Queensberry boxing league had some pro fights under GBA last night also not been listed
Re: Unofficial commissions l
http://boxrec.com/boxer/675397 defeated http://boxrec.com/boxer/155990mon Saturday at Grantham. Whatever anyone says abut mbc thus is a very competitive match and a step up for someone who has had merely 7 fights

From what I've read the whole show in Grantham was full of competitive matches it's a shame the boxers involved aren't having their fights and achievements listed or recorded

I read a review of the show on sportslincs.co.UK I've been trying to get on it to see who wrote the article but it won't let me on it now, from the results I've seen a few journeymen pulled off upsets and a few got draws and from what I've read on the above site and Facebook the decastro vs tetteh fight was a good old tear up so sounds like a good competitive show

The sportslincs.co.uk article only reports on the Decastro fight. As its an independent reporter it must have been a decent fight. But There's no mention why the main event was pulled or summary of any of the other fights.half man half amazin wrote:I read a review of the show on sportslincs.co.UK I've been trying to get on it to see who wrote the article but it won't let me on it now, from the results I've seen a few journeymen pulled off upsets and a few got draws and from what I've read on the above site and Facebook the decastro vs tetteh fight was a good old tear up so sounds like a good competitive show
Why was Decastro fighting for an MBC belt anyways. I thought MBC moved all their operations to Malta ?
Re: Unofficial commissions l
I was at the show and can confirm it was full of 50/50 fights. Breath of fresh air and is such a shame boxrec not listing. Main event decastro vs tetteh was entertaining and big step up for Nathan.

Re: Unofficial commissions l
As well as being a competitive boxer I am also a big boxing fan. I have tickets to the rigendeoux show, and crolla show. Must go to 4-5 bbbofc a year along with 3-4 mbc shows so think I'm in a fair position to pass judgement. I haven't come on here previously and said that about mbc shows - just this particular one which I had no involvement in.questionmore wrote:A compugnent but not quite independent viewCazelo wrote:I was at the show and can confirm it was full of 50/50 fights. Re: Unofficial commissions l
Very disappointing with Boxrec stance on the situation. As professional boxing record keepers not to keep professional boxers records whatever there relationship with the organisation is pretty poor. Its unfair picking and choosing who they keep records for. Me personally have been looked after by MBC NOW BIBA and can't thank them enough for their help in my career. Bbbc refused me on medical grounds because of my brain scan because of a small cyst on the brain which is ridiculous as they have licensed boxers in the past with it. Audley Harrison boxed his career with same. I can get a licence anywhere in the world but not Bbbc I've had specialist reports saying i was fit to box. Same as Iain weaver did, boxing is my life and to have my licence IMO and opinion of specialist unfairly refused is gutting. I was going to move abroad and fight but after hearing about MBC I choose that route so I could stay in England and fight. I've boxed everybody as an amateur Etches Eubanks Taylor Eggington Cunningham Hooper (Australian star) Smith Essuman just to name a few I had around 100 fights amateur. To see people slate the organisation and boxers off is frustrating especially to me as I work hard and want to succeed in a sport I love and have been in since I was 9. I'm always in entertaining fights and that won't change wether I'm BBBC Or MBC/BIBA but hopefully BoxRec will come to their senses and record our results, this is a website I respect massively but with this decision I am losing that for them. I won a hard fought contest V Tetteh in only my 8th fight stopping him in 5th but it's not on here and that's annoying as people use this site for results/rankings.

Re: Unofficial commissions l
As said by Cazelo, the show was as competitive as any show your likely to see anywhere, regardless of sanctioning body..
Im not completely impartial as i had 2 boxers i manage on the show, but that is as far as it goes, made no difference to me how the rest of the show went as long as my lads got good results ( got 1 close win and 1 close loss for the record, both just a point either way)
Maybe the lads arent important enough to be noticed on a national level, but for as far as Grantham goes i highly doubt the town as seen a bigger/better boxing event EVER.
DeCastro vs Tetteh was a proper war. Anyone whos seen either man fight previously knows that both men come to fight. But to do that in just his 8th bout shows Decastro is someone to take seriously.
Someone asked why the original main event didnt happen.. from my understanding the opponent had Visa issues, it happens , nothing that could be avoided, but to be honest i think Decastro headlining was a better decision anyway.
Lets stop the petty crap now and get on with it, that goes to ALL involved

I saw Tetteh fight two months ago, the board have just fined him £2500 for allowing himself to be counted out and quitting in that fight.damianhucker1 wrote:As said by Cazelo, the show was as competitive as any show your likely to see anywhere, regardless of sanctioning body..

Re: Unofficial commissions l
I am not doubting Decastro was in a good fight as I read it in an independent report.
The promoter also seemed to go above and beyond the call of duty to put on this show.
BUT -
My point is all the reports ive read apart from the one on sportslincs.co.uk are a copy and paste type and not impartial as they are written by none other than the VP.
IF ANYBODY KNOWS OF ANY OTHER INDEPENDENT REPORTS OF THIS SHOW THEN PLEASE PROVIDE LINKS AS I WOULD LIKE TO READ.
I, like many other boxing folk like to read different reports from a show to get a feel for it. But when you come across the same repeat splurge it becomes off putting.
I have always had a keen interest in following Decastros career and was looking forward to reading how he faired with Clotto. But as with this Tetteh fight, with the lack of independent reporting
Proved difficult.
Independant reporting is crucial to any venture. A prime example of this is the importance placed on BoxRec results/records - So at best I see it as an oversight from the Promoter.

Funny how you point that out not that he had his moments himself in that fight... considering he may have just been knackered... simple as that... whats he meant to do... just get himself knocked out instead, he certainly came to win, maybe gave up too easily for most peoples liking but hes the one in the ring not us, and its his safety at risk.
I look forward to hearing of bbbofc fining Andrej Gjergej following his falling over from a Haye jab too then..

In fairness, yes he holds an mbc license. doesnt mean he cant be impartial seeing as he wasnt on the show and had no stable mates on the show, he was just there purely as a spectator.questionmore wrote:Yeah right - Thats your totally unbiased viewCazelo wrote:As well as being a competitive boxer I am also a big boxing fan. You telling me that every bbbofc license holder are going to praise All bbbofc shows too ?
C'mon, just plain daft that is... i get what your trying to say, but its not implausible for him to be unbiased in regards to show in which the only thing he has in common is a license

BUT - I was hoping to read an independent report of the show... And so far all ive seen is one article from sportslincs.co.uk or comment from someone who is currently liscenced with MBC/BIBA.
it's not a lot to ask is it ?
Re: Unofficial commissions l
By that same token a player signed to man united couldn't appreciate a good game between rival premier league teams without showing bias?
I have been to an mbc show with bad mismatching - just like the ones seen up n down the country on bbbofc shows.
Have to agree with how unfortunate it is for the lack of reports. Boxing news don't cover it. There were reporters there from local radio stations and newspapers but nothing has appeared.
