Business wise, sure. But as a MMA fan I'm far more excited about jones/DC II than the macgregor circus, it's a fight that has zero impact on the 170 lb division, though I'm sure the UFC are desperate to give Connor a title shot if he wins.
The clown should just defend his title, shit or get off the pot

Too each their own, I was way more excited when Diaz replaced dos anjos even though the 'stskes' were lower. I can't envision any scenario where cormier wins. That isn't in my top 5 most anticipated fights on that card. That being said, mma is awesome. I couldn't come up with a way bisping could win either.

I thought beforet he fight was announced that Connor should have to beat someone like Diaz or cerrone before he got the did Anjos fight. Do you know if the rematch is at 155 or 170?

Interested in seeing who might bid and what changes they might or might not want to make.

Who you guys picking between Thomspson and Macdonald? I'll be pulling for Wonderboy but it's a tough fight for him. Think he matches better with Lawler than Rory.

Wonderboy... He should get the title shot after this and I see him becoming champion. But yeah, Rory's style should offer more resistance than Lawler. Going to be a nice scrap. Also excited about the Cowboy/Cote fight. Not sure who to pick there.

I really want Wonderboy to win and after what he did to Hendricks... but Mac might just be the worst fight out there for him. Taking Cote, he's a massive welterweight where as Cowboy is a fairly big lightweight. If he goes to the legs a lot he might get something out of it though.

Well I got that completely wrong. Not for the fist time. I missed about half of the main card as I fell asleep, how did Cowboy look? That's a good win for him. I was impressed by Thompson and somewhat disappointed with Rory. The few times Rory tried for the takedown he ended up either not getting it or on the bottom. Thompson's TDD was very impressive and he was good at kicking range as always. They were both a bit tentative for obvious reasons making it less of a war than most would have liked but it was still interesting. Rory spent way too much time fighting in Thompson's rage; the fight looked close the few times he managed to get inside and let his hands go. I'm not saying he would have won if he'd spent most of the fight in that range but it'd have been a much less comfortable fight for Wonderboy. Hopefully Lawler or Woodley make quick work of their fight so we can see Wonderboy vs the winner in the near future.

I thought Wonderboy looked really good, his boxing actually surprised me tonight it looked sharp. I still don't understand why or how the karate guys get away with a quick blitz of punches though and don't get caught with their chin in the air etc. Rory I'm not sure about he was obviously confused by the style and speed of Thompson but I thought when his nose started bleeding again in the last round he totally changed and he may have work to do to get over with his nose if he is to continue fighting, he may have been so tentative because he isn't as willing as before to take the kind of shots he did against Lawler. I think Thompson beats Lawler handily if they fight, I see people are saying Lawler will just walk through like McDonald wasn't able to but I think that gets him knocked out if he goes into his beserker mode.
Cerrone looked great but Cote is well past it and his chin has obviously left him, no way that's the same guy who took punch after punch and kicks and a flying knee from Anderson Silva.

Fedor looked like garbage against Maldonado. Fight would have been stopped in the first round in the US. He eked out a decision because there's just no way they're letting him lose in Russia. I think he'd lose badly to even a B-level HW like Mitrione or Magomedov.

Had it 28-28 myself. If that first wasn't a 10-8 then I don't know what is. Fedor doesn't belong in the UFC and I hope he retires and certainly not at heavyweight. If he was in actual shape hat weightclass would he be in? 185 for me, he's smaller than Rockhold and Weidman in my opinion. Actually Bisping v Fedor would be awesome. Dream on.

I can understand why people think like that, after all it worked so well for Hendricks.

Wonder Boy/ Rory was a bit of a snoozer. But, I completely understand the tentativeness. I have little doubt that Thompson will be the nest 170 champion.

Cowboy looked incredible! I don't buy that Cote is washed up. He has looked good at the weight already. Donald just looked very sharp at the weight and looks to have carried good power up. His game plan was perfect. Cote found out early that he wasn't just going to barge in and tag him with that right hand. The two take downs in the 1st helped Donald set the pace. Then he went to work on the lead leg. Once he started landing the punches upstairs, it was pretty much over for Cote. The left hooks were very precise. Which is why Cote got softened up for the kill. The best Cowboy I've seen! :bag:

I dunno about that. Fedor in shape is like 225-230. Strongly doubt he could ever make 185. 205 would be possible. He's like a Russian Cormier.

Fedor has never been in top shape in his career. It didn't hurt him early on, but then neither did not being with a top team. No way in hell he'd make it at his age now. When he fought Henderson, I didn't think he looked the bigger man, fat aside. Hendo has fought at 205 plenty of times but isn't as big as some 185ers. I'd say Cormier is a bit bigger than Fedor, particularly his core, but still isn't in great shape at 205. Have you ever seen his abs? I'd hazard that he would be able to make 190-195 in top shape but there wouldn't be much point.

In PRIDE, Fedor was generally around 235. People say he was chubby but honestly if you look at him back then he was solid as hell. Of course, in PRIDE steroid use was accepted and allowed, so that may account for some of the increased muscle mass.

He was certainly in better shape in Pride but never in great shape. I think people are too forgiving of heavyweights. If someone had that kind of body fat level at any other weight class they'd be called fat and told to move down. Heavyweight boxing is terrible for this.

It mattered a lot less back in the day. But now there are heavyweights that are rock solid at 240+ and just generally much bigger than him. Likewise everyone at lower weights is cutting a lot more. BJ went from 170 (Machida fight aside) to 145 late in his career. Obviously AJ is a big exception but he had a lot of trouble making weight and isn't a small light heavy. Actually AJ isn't a bad example, is he smaller than Fedor?

Rampage won a very cose decision last night.

But, the highlight of the night was Chandler's one punch KO of Patricky Pitbull. One of the best one punch KOs I've seen recently.

Chandler is a beast. I was shocked as hell when Brooks finished him.

That KO was the lone highlight on an awful Bellator card.

It's always interesting to see what a top guy from another organization can do in the UFC. Brooks has entered a deep division.

UFC 200 was disappointing.

Tate was dead at the weight and got schooled in the art of MMA striking.

Brock was decent but Hunt very 1 dimensional and the fight wasn't great.

Cormier was boring. Fair play to Silva for stepping up, another boring fight though.

Also was good, disappointed in Edgar though, thought he was better in the last 2 rounds of their first fight. Wasn't a great fight, just watchable.

Cain's performance was dominant, like the Cain of old. Most enjoyable fight for me.

4 decisions on the prelims, nothing really stood out apart from that Sage isn't that good yet.

I didn't bother getting fight pass but it seems I missed the best of the action with 3 1st round KOs! Typical!

202 will do more PPVs than this surely.

Also, I think they should alter the rules of scoring. Fighters shouldn't be marked up just purely for having "top position" if they're not using either GnP or BJJ to try and finish. I just can't take to wrestling, it ruins the momentum of fights.

Fertittas finally cashing in (most of) their UFC chips. Projected price is $4 billion, to be formally announced as early as this morning. WME-IMG apparently won the bidding war (they own Rousey). About 7X revenue. Considering what they have been through building the product and the brand, congratulations are in order for the brothers, it appears.

Expect a greater mass of streamed content.

Was that fight a 1-time thing or is Brock planning on staying for a while? I wouldn't mind seeing Brock/JDS.
