What Middleweights COULD Brook Beat?

Post by Taansend »

Who do you think he could beat? I've put some Middles & Lightmiddles in there.

Click on as many options as you want.

You can even change your mind (up until the week of the fight)

I went for Cotto, Eubank Jr, BJS, Lee, Quillan, Ryder & Smith.

I'd make Brook relatively strong favourite against Lee, Ryder & Smith, and would have the rest as roughly 50-50.

Doesn't really matter because he's facing the one he most definitely can't beat.

He'd have a chance against all the names on that list apart from the one he is fighting next.

Why? None of them are particularly good apart from Cotto, but he's years past his best.

They're all still pretty decent but most importantly they're actually middleweights. Brook is a very good welterweight but he's not proven above that weight class so whether he'd be that good against other good fighters who are naturally bigger men remains to be seen.

One fighter I do think would light Brook up and actually provide GGG with an interesting test is Andrade. He's the best fighter outside of golovkin between 154 and 160 for me.

I'd back him against Smith and Ryder

He'd probably be bigger than Cotto and I think he'd have a good chance there as well. Against the top natural MW guys it's tougher for me to say.

Anyone can beat any given opponent on any given day. He probably won't win but that doesn't mean it's an impossible task.

True. I only gave him a 5% chance of winning when the fight was announced. In the four days since that has risen to 8% :box:
