Valero....perhaps not even in the top 6 southpaw lightweights.

Post by BoxBuzz »

We have an esteemed contributor that likes Edwins moves. I've gone back, done my homework, and reached a differing conclusion.

Let's leave Duran and a dozen other top notch right handers out of the discussion, which puts Valero well out side the top ten.

But here's just a few southpaws off the top of my head, that would get my bet over Valero and shove him outside the top 5 southpaw lightweights.

1. Whitaker....he'd clown him
2. Flash Eldorde....no contest
3. Nazarov.....yep I think he'd whup Valero just fine
4. Stevie Johnston.....good fight...maybe until Valero choked.
5 Hector Camacho....... Either before or after he got a little gunshy. Though I think Valero could teach him that lesson as well.

and here's another for good measure....

Cassamayor.

I'm sure you're leaving some out who could've beaten Valero

Valero so overrated especially to his resume. He did nothing really to get the hype he still has to this day.

I saw a few of his fights, and he always looked mediocre to me. I wish we could've seen him fight Juan Manuel Marquez. Marquez would've crushed Valero and killed the bullsh*t hype train that comes along with a shiny record.

We as boxing fans love that "shinny record" like you said.

Kalan does especially. He already believes Anthony Joshua is the #1 Heavyweight of all time

This in spite of the fact that he still hasn't even established himself as the best of his own time...now don't get me wrong I like Joshua, and I think he's very talented and probably will be the best of this generation, but when you see guys like Kalan already anointing him the greatest ever....there's just no words for stupidity like that.

Same thing about Verdejo being the best lightweight in the other thread. That 'zero' means so much in fans opinions.

Only to the casuals. To the Hardcore fans it's not how many you beat, it's WHO you beat.

So what happens if Verdejo and Valero meet.

Surely it is like the irresistible force meeting the immovable object, neither man has been beaten, therefore can never be beaten!
