Clive, Manny Siaca moved up 21 pounds to fight Danny Green it would probably be similar to that whith Green weighing 180ish.

Here's one, a well-known Kiwi by the name of Bob Fitzsimmons, who took on light-heavies and quite a few heaviesLET ME KNOW WHEN YOU FIND THAT JR MIDDLE WHO FIGHTS CRUISERWEIGHT'
Bob, coming in at 156 pounds fought Bill Lang at 187 pounds at the Sydney Stadium for a title. Earlier Bob bulked up to 172 pounds to fight Jim Jefferies at 219 pounds.
Also Bob stepped into the ring with a certain Jack Johnson.

You are comparing Mundine and Green to Muhammad AliDA GOOSE wrote:Well Ali sacrificed years and millions on principle these 2 don't have any. suffer any long term damage from all the hits to the head he's taken. Meanwhile we have to endure this build up for 6-7 months,great.![]()
Still think he should fight Geale if he beats Quinlan it's closer to his optimum weight range and he could probably make another few mill like there last fight did. And it would be for another ''world title'' as well as ticking Green off.![]()

They are professional boxers at the end of their respective roads and have the opportunity to fight for the second biggest purse of each of their careers.
Do you really think they should do themselves out of millions of dollars just because in trash talking each other they said they wouldn't fight each other again?

This century is only 16 years old and the cruiserweight division was only officially recognised about 35 years ago.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:Beltane wrote:Here's one, a well-known Kiwi by the name of Bob Fitzsimmons, who took on light-heavies and quite a few heaviesLET ME KNOW WHEN YOU FIND THAT JR MIDDLE WHO FIGHTS CRUISERWEIGHT'

Boxers have been giving away weight since boxing began and continue to do so. There are many, many examples of boxers giving away over 10kg to their opponents. Nothing new there. Take a look at Ron Richard's career just for one example.
Re: Anthony Mundine says he's deep in negotiations over a rematch with Danny Green
WBC kicked off with 1st world cruiserweight title in 1979 (Dec 8) and WBA waited until 1982 and then recognized Ossie Ocasio as its champ, after he outpointed Robbie Wilson

Can bring up a 100 fighters in the last 100 years ,who gave away weight it does;nt alter the fact that this is a nonsence retirement fight for 2 aging boxers ,, I would love to see Mundine smash him , Mundine put his balls on the line many a time .. Green well he's spent his whole carreer fighting mismatches and danny weight

100 and probably many more. But what would be the point of listing them? It has happened innumerable times.coneye wrote:Can bring up a 100 fighters in the last 100 years ,who gave away weight it does;nt alter the fact that this is a nonsence retirement fight for 2 aging boxers ,, I would love to see Mundine smash him , Mundine put his balls on the line many a time .. Likewise, what would be the point of debating Mundine's career vs Green's career again? How many times, over how many years and by how many people does it need to be done before it has been done to death? Does anyone really want to go there again? Surely not!
Re: Anthony Mundine says he's deep in negotiations over a rematch with Danny Green
I give Green his dues for his career pre first retirement Lucas,Beyer 1, and come on mate Mundine fought Lester Ellis. It's only since he won the IBO CW title that the Dannyweight rubbish started. He promised his fans Hopkins,Adamek,Haye and delivered rubbish. I would like to see Mundine beat him too(Mundine is the lesser of 2 Richard headsconeye wrote:Can bring up a 100 fighters in the last 100 years ,who gave away weight it does;nt alter the fact that this is a nonsence retirement fight for 2 aging boxers ,, I would love to see Mundine smash him , Mundine put his balls on the line many a time .. You keep going way way way way back to find the poor fighter's who had to put themselves in that situation [give away weight fight a bigger fighter] or they would'nt get the fight no money no food you should be ashamed of yourself for trying to justify this sh.t what did you say this century is only 16 years old whats that suppose to mean lets talk about what 10/12 kg's means IT MEANS YOUR IN A DIFFERENT WEIGHT DIVISION not even close to being a match if we follow the weight class's and don't bring up Ron Richards career he was used the poor man died a pauper what a fu.king joke he was from the same era as my mother and father when mission managers told you when you can piss we weren't even allowd to vote so this century is only 16 year's old so last century was how long.................100 year's old can you find me a well performed fighter on planet earth that's not from a shameful era when all people weren't treated equal that gave an opponent 10 kg's or more outside a heavyweight fight someone from our era

Muhammad Ali has probably influenced everybody who laced up a glove for the past 50 years. It is absurd to compare Mundine and Green with the most famous and influential figure in boxing history. Just as it is absurd to single out Green for being "influenced"" by Ali when the reason Mundine took up boxing was he wanted to be like Muhammad Ali:
How quickly they forget
Re: Anthony Mundine says he's deep in negotiations over a rematch with Danny Green
Not really. Respective legislation allows them to approve or disapprove registration, but not fights.ClivePatrickLyons wrote:Boxing commissions were set up to protect fighter's from them self and to regulate people like Team Danny Green
Matchmaking is promoters' responsibility.
Re: Anthony Mundine says he's deep in negotiations over a rematch with Danny Green
Yeah, but he got knocked out by Tarver and Wlodarkzyk, two of the best fighters to have graced our shores (up there with Roy Jones Jr, who, along with Tarver and Wlod, Green brought out here and Zoom Zoom Nelson and Jack Johnson, among others), so it's understandable why that didn't come off, in fact, after Green stopped Jones Jr. Hopkins chose to fight Jones Jr. In the states.DA GOOSE wrote:I give Green his dues for his career pre first retirement Lucas,Beyer 1, and come on mate Mundine fought Lester Ellis. Sure, Green has had some very low points, and promoting himself at the time only he is responsible for, like the Paul Briggs fiasco,
Manny Siaca(?) and "Danny weight", granted, but you keep banging on with your agenda, which is one thing, whatever gets you through the night and all, however you must stop twisting and misinterpreting the facts to suit your agenda. You're starting to come off as a total cunting fuckwit.

Antonio Tarver and Krzysztof Wlodarczyk in particular, were, and remain, class opponents.
Wlodarczyk was 45-2-1 and the WBC champion when he met Green. He then made 3 more successful defences after Green. Before falling to Grigory Drozd, the best cruiserweight in the world. Wlodarczyk's record stands at an outstanding 51-3-1.
Antonio Tarver has quite simply been an ATG of the sport. His record includes 2 wins against a very good version of Roy Jones just for starters. Tarver was 28-6 when he met Green, and those losses were to huge name opponents because the guy walked the walk and fought the very best. Tarver hasn't lost since fighting Green and most recently beat the 29-2-1 Johnathon Banks and drew Steve USS Cunningham.
These guys aren't rubbish. But your post certainly was
