And of course, beating Oscar in the ring (you do remember that Fight to Save Boxing, don't you?) may help somewhat in the analysis.

And what is this "total corruption" you allude to.

Just because some rank one guy or another higher than the other in subjective ratings doesn't indicate any sort of bogus corruption.

It's just an opinion. The sport of boxing will survive no matter who may be deemed the superior fighter.

Had De La Hoya gone undefeated, or even won half of those big fights, he could justifiably be ranked ahead of Mayweather in an all-time p4p sense, even if he'd still lost to Floyd narrowly as he did. Their fight didn't mean a lot in terms of their all-time standing, because it was so close and while it was at Oscar's preferred weight, Floyd was in his prime while Oscar had already been in a lot of tough fights, had more miles on the clock and was slightly past his best.

While he didn't deserve the nod against Whittaker, he was arguably robbed against Trinidad (though it was mostly his own fault) and again against Mosley in their rematch. He certainly faced better opposition than Floyd, but considering he lost most of his big fights, I think he has to rate lower.

Oscar De La Hoya is the corrupt guy... He was given a gift decision over Felix Sturm... Mysteriously, 2 of those same obscure judges showed up for his next fight with Hopkins - along with Keith MacDonald who was giving the fight to Oscar even though Hopkins was winning every round.

Since Mayweather won all his fights including beating DLH - while Oscar lost 6 fights... Mayweather is a solid ATG and Oscar is a questionable one.

I thought Mosley won both fights with De La Hoya. The 2nd one is very close.

Fair enough - I shouldn't have said definitely, but to me it was a poor decision and DLH won it close but clear. Strange that one judge had Oscar winning their first fight, when I thought Mosley did much better in that fight than the second. Compubox isn't everything, but it had DLH outlanding Mosley by a margin of 221 to 127 in their second fight, though Mosley did land the harder punches.

The difference between Oscar and Floyd is simple. Oscar lost to the best fighters he fought . Floyd beat the best fighters he fought. Oscar as a bit past his prime when he fought Floyd. Floyd was a bit past his prime when he fought Canelo. See the difference :)

I agree but there some losses or should be losses that Mayweather doesn't have. The Sturm fight and the head to head tips it for me. You cant have a bad loss and a head to head loss.
