I was at this fight card, and the Fidel Maldonado Jr. vs. Gerardo Cuevas fight ended in the third. The ring announcer made an incorrect call to the end of the fight, and I guess some lazy official ran with it.
Here's the video proof of the fight in question. And on a side note, Maldonado should have been TKO'd in the second, but the referee gave him the hometown recovery time.
