Any news about WBC, Povetkin and Wilder situation ?

Post by apollo creed »

I'd really like to see Wilder vs Povetkin happen by the end of this year. Povetkin is still no. 1 mandatory challenger for Wilder's title. :box:

The WBC have delayed making a decision, but they'll likely decide and make an announcement by the end of July.

They have been probably waiting for Wilder to win today's fight before announcing their decision.

I wonder what will be Wilder's reaction if WBC say he has to fight Povetkin.

I can't see how they can avoid saying that, as WADA judged that Povetkin was clean.

Do you think it would be different from his reaction from BEFORE? It's not like it's the first time you know...

I imagine he would sign another contract and roll back to Russia. Those drug testing agencies release specifics? That would be a first. Povetkin was dirty, cost wilder a ton of money win or lose.i hate to break it to you. Like all fighters deontay thinks he's the best in the world

Povetkin wasn't dirty you stupid dingleberry... He passed every test with flying colors and whatever they say VADA and the WBC will have egg all over their faces... That's why they're waiting forever to issue their reports... They're trying to figure a way to spin their announcement so that it doesn't set them up for a lawsuit... It doesn't take forever to acknowledge a boxer passed all his tests --

so they'll use carefully contrived, weasel language like "Povetkin had an adverse test result where there was Meldonium present.. This was also affirmed when his B Sample was tested... So upon thorough and extensive testing and investigation into this matter -- we've concluded that the test results did not breach the minimum allowable presence for Meldonium... So after consulting with VADA and legal experts we have determined to bend toward leniency and allow Wilder-Povetkin to proceed since it should be a great fight... This has been a trying time for everybody concerned and blah blaa blah blaa blah blaa blaaa." ...

They're NEVER going to come out and state that Povetkin passed ALL his tests and they were trying to destroy Povetkin's chances of getting a title shot and destroy Moscow, Russia as a venue for major fights.

Povetkin is no dirtier than Wilder. Both had clean tests except Sasha's traces of meldonium from 2015 which were below the allowed threshold.

Wilder may well be on as many PED's as Povetkin is. Fact remains the fight was called off because of Povetkin and you guys are massaging his balls with your tongues and blaming Wilder.

If WADA have said he's clean, what else is there to investigate,

Povetkin could be pronounced clean, and they might reschedule the fight, but Wilder will make sure to squeeze in 2 or 3 more guys below the Top 10 first. He's milking that title for all it's worth. 4 Title defenses so far. Still only 1 Top 10 opponent, and that's the guy he won the title from.

- The new big pants Lar Holmes, never beating a standing champ who actually won a title bout and only holding the disgraced WBC belt.

Beat up to boot with broken hand, torn bicep and memory of being unable to score a clean KO over Charlie Z. All we need to complete his legacy is for Butterbean to knock him down for laughs.

Wilder doesn't even want to be in the same country as Vityaz man Povetkin. That's why he never even went to Russia the first time. Look at how his good buddy Arreola - they sure were palsy walsy - who actually looked less dangerous - and definitely was trying less hard to win - than wacky Charlie Z - got inside, and imagine that was Povetkin - and if you forgot the difference between a Povetkin punch and an Arreola punch watch the Mike Perez fight again. And all this is assuming that Wilder will ever be the same again after the damage he sustained tonight.

The fight was called off because of WADA's original missing research on meldonium. There was no fault of Povetkin who followed the meldonium ban ruling.

Wilder looked like crap tonight. I suppose the injury had something to do with it. Take away the power in the right hook and he's a barely average fighter.

If Wilder fought anyone good he would have lost tonight.

I think even Duhaupas would have won yesterday after Wilder got injured, sadly it was Arreola who was in the ring.

Now I'm looking back at it, it seems like two friends sharing cash, over 1,5 million dollars actually.

I guess Wilder will say he can't fight no more because of his hand and with that excuse avoiding Povetkin again.

At least it gives the WBC a good excuse to give the belt to Povetkin without much arguments of Wilder.

After that I expect Povetkin to fight AJ in Russia, or perhaps even UK, and I hope AJ isn't such a pussy that ducks Povetkin, after that I expect all the Americans to say that AJ is a hero and Povetkin a bum and over time Deontay will come back, not sure if he fights AJ or Fury.
I hope Wilder fights Fury, loses and doesn't even get much money for it. Meanwhile I hope AJ fights Ortiz and gives Ortiz a nice pile of money, since Ortiz deserves it imo.
