I think Wilder simply was in bad shape, but at least in far better shape as right after his holiday in the UK. It was enough to get away against Arreola at this stage of Arreola his carreer in every case.

In the words of Arreola :

"The fourth round knockdown was a situation where he just hit me with the perfect shot. Nothing I could do about it."

"Deontay's movement was really tough. He moved perfectly behind his jab. It's not that it's even frustrating; it was just I had to catch up to him on runs like that, but it was a fun fight.

He just kept me on the outside, I couldn't figure him out -- plain and simple. I have to give him all the respect in the world because he was just a much better fighter."

"Let's be honest, man. It takes a real fighter to be in the ring with someone like him. He's a big man. We're in the heavyweight division, man, this is the hurt business. You have to know how to deal with adversity. I get punched, I'm going to get back up. I have to give him credit."

Arreola has nothing left in him. Just a fat former contender.

Wilder's comments after the fight :

“I wanted to give you guys a knockout, but I broke my hand and I tore a muscle.

“My goal is to unify the division.

“So whoever’s got those belts, that’s who I want. It don’t matter if I got a broke hand, got a torn mus- cle, I’m going to fight like champions do. Of course I want the Furys, of course I want the Joshuas but the question is, do they want me?”

Meanwhile Lou DiBella says Wilder will be out for the remainder of the year with his injuries :

"He's definitely going to need surgery on his right hand," DiBella said. "He will have it as soon as is practical. He will likely also require surgery on his biceps."

"Deontay is definitely out for the remainder of the year, but we will know more in the next few days."

Arreola hasn't been a credible contender for a while, and he was honest enough to admit that he didn't deserve a title shot.

Last five fights: knocked out by Stiverne, life and death with a clubfighter, draw against a journeyman that most had him losing, dropped in a very close, disputed win (overturned due to drug use) over C level Travis Kauffman, one-sided stoppage loss to Wilder.

I'm not even sure if he's one of the best 50 fighters in the division anymore, but watch him somehow get another title shot for doing pretty much nothing.

I doubt that Mexican boxing administrators give a rat's arse about giving paydays to Mexican boxers, any more than US boxing administrators care about US boxers. Boxing administrators of whatever nationality are only focused on giving paydays to themselves.

Wilder's hand is a hot mess. It looks like he stuck it in a hornet's next. He posted a video of it and his bicep. I'd be surprised if he is able to fight before next year.

Broken hand and tore arm is busted up to me . What will happen to him when he fights someone who fights back? He hits Fury and breaks his hand in the first couple of rounds and he will be toast .

I'd say that's just injured. There's a big difference between getting an injury and getting busted up.

You expect a top 40 boxer to sit on his chair during the break and just give up the fight when he hears his opponend is injured? Like Arreola and his team did? TBH I even think even Wach would have won against Wilder if he was in the ring instead of Arreola.

You think Wach would have given up? And just would have given the victory to Wilder?
