Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
Depends on your definition of sold out. Most of those tickets go to ticket agencies.
Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
...that's my understanding too, considering those 11 minutes, I would assume 99 percent went to ticket agencies...and still have to be resold...jamesmcdonnell wrote:Depends on your definition of sold out. Most of those tickets go to ticket agencies.
Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
Hoping to get a ticket myself but not looking likely, won't know if i'll be free in September until nearer the time so by then 2nd hand prices i'd imagine will be huge.
I don't even think it's a good match up, but it's not that often an ATG fighter comes to the UK.
Fwiw Brook's a bigger name here than Eubank jnr.

Brook is a nice appetizer, your right it's not even a good match up really. Hopefully the fans get at least a few rounds nobody wants to pay big $ for a wipe out.. but I'd rather see that then Kell take a prolonged life changing beating.Ricky_ wrote:Hoping to get a ticket myself but not looking likely, won't know if i'll be free in September until nearer the time so by then 2nd hand prices i'd imagine will be huge.

Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
I favor GGG big time in this contest.
But I consider Brook to be one of GGG's best oponents to date.
I don't see Brook embarrassing himself and expect him to give 100%

Had this argument with my mate. You really think Brook is a tougher opponent than Lemieux or Martin Murray? Even if you think Brook is better from a p4p point of view, it would be like saying Rigondeux would be Golovkin's best opponent. Brook jumping 2 weight classes won't end well, if Brook was to be ranked in middleweight i'd need to at least see how he does at 160 before even placing him in the top 15-20. If it was BJS or Eubank that Brook was signed to fight, i'd make him an underdog.

I would classify brook as leaps and bounds better than any other fighter he has faced on p4p basis.Ricky_ wrote:tiny_acres wrote:I favor GGG big time in this contest.

But even given the jump of 2 weight divisions I would place him as a top 3 opponent that GGG has faced.
It's a decent match up in my opinion.
One that GGG should win by ko.
But not the blowout most are predicting.
Brook will make it entertaining for 7 to 9 rounds

Oh dear, people were saying similar rubbish when Khan faced Canelo.tiny_acres wrote:I favor GGG big time in this contest.

Sure, Brook is big at 147, but he's never fought above that weight. It will be over pretty much as soon as GGG lands something significant and gets him in trouble.
Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
Leaps and Bounds?? based on one debatable win over Porter? Porter who was maybe top 3-4 in his own weightclass? That's quite an exaggeration. You may be right about it not being a blowout, and certainly entertaining, and lasting 7-9 rounds - that all sounds right. The p4p reference seems off though.tiny_acres wrote:I would classify brook as leaps and bounds better than any other fighter he has faced on p4p basis.Ricky_ wrote:tiny_acres wrote:I favor GGG big time in this contest.

Including Brook then, give us your top 5 Golovkin opponents?
Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
Got to say it's a real steal getting GGG over to the UK in his prime that doesn't happen often.
As for tickets there is a big problem with these bots grabbing them all online before the general public, I think that has become a big issue in the past years.
Whatever happen to line ups first come first served, at least most of us would have a chance at getting to see an event.

Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
Why? He is a coward who did not want the fight and wants nothing to do with GGG. He did not want to get his ass kicked in front of his family and countrymen and women.Pureist wrote:Golovkin v brook sold out in 11 minutes, Eubank Jnr would have to be kicking himself surely
Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
GGG can't get opponents. The top North Americans won't fight him. They are cowards.,Ricky_ wrote:tiny_acres wrote:

Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
Loads there. God I hope they choke on them. It really isn't fair at all.
Re: Sold out in 11 minutes
WTF were the ticket prices if they're gone in 11 minutes??? They need to push those prices higher so all the scalpers don't line their guys up to grab them all.Pureist wrote:Golovkin v brook sold out in 11 minutes, Eubank Jnr would have to be kicking himself surely
