Pretty much my thoughts. He looked much better as an amateur, particularly speed-wise.lefty wrote:How do you rate him? To be honest, I hadn't really followed his pro career that closely but I watched his fight with Hope on Saturday and I have to be honest- I thought he looked really slow and robotic looking.
Am I being harsh? Don't get me wrong, I hope he does really well as he seems a nice guy and also if boxing takes off in India it would be huge for the sport. I think he'll end up making a fair bit of money either way.
Just curious to hear other perspectives on his skillet?

Yeah it seems a strange one. I mean it's not like he's that old! He should still be in his athletic prime right now.crusader wrote:Pretty much my thoughts. bit surprised by the reactions here, unless im reading it all wrong.
ive seen all his fights on bocksnation, in fact ive looked forward to watching him fight. they always put him on early. he has looked brilliant knocking people out, seems to have shaken off the amateur style and has real venom.
to fight kerry hope in his seventh fight was a huge step up, and one i thought may have been too much for him. seemed a weird fight to take for a homecoming bout, thought they would have gone for someone to knock out.
but he dominated the fight, did 10 rounds and it was a measured display. clearly they are trying to rush him to the top because he's 30 and this was a big step in that direction.
be interesting what happens next. maybe lee markham would be a good one, now that he's got past hope.
singh is one of the few guys i will make sure to tune in to watch so will definitely watch his career with interest.
