Wake bouncing back and forth behind long right lead.

Guzman relaxed, watching.

Guzman becomes aggressive from the round mid-way point, throwing hard with both hands.

Wake again comes out throwing long one-twos, the two to the body.

Guzman throwing multiple compact hooks, roughing up Wake.

Wake's face shows he is under pressure.

Guzman matching him for speed.

Guzman lands left right hooks. Wake down!

Wake cut badly under right eye.

Wake down again. Holds and survives

10 -7 Guzman.

Wake trying to get back some rhythm.

Guzman patient, now placing straight right to body.

Good one lands; warned for low blow. Lands a couple more.

Wake looking gassed. Warned for holding.

Last ten seconds Guzman straight right to body then left hook drops Wake.

Guzman looking confident and controlled; Wake in a world of hurt.

Guzman busts up Wake on ropes with combinations.

Wake's swelling below right eye. Now bleeding from nose.

Guzman mixes in uppercuts, hooks and body shots.

Wake holds.

Round Five

Wake must have good conditioning -- legs still bouncing, stepping forward,
but Guzman times him and potshots to body and head.

Finally Wake lands a sharp straight Left!

Crowd comes alive.

Then 40 seconds left, as if to say "no you don't,"
Guzman lands his own long straight right -- Wake flat on his back!

Wake up, discouraged. Holds, then knocked down again by left hook after bell.

Wake fighting hard -- wont give up!

Yet taking a lot of punishment, bleeding under eye.

Guzman pressing, Wake holds, ducks low.

Wake lands good shot, may have hurt Guzman.

Guzman's left eye suddenly swollen, yet has some
energy back. Lands fast lead Right

Wake lands good left counter

Guzman pushes Waked down.

Wake's eye badly swollen.

Round Nine

Wake coming on strong -- lands good straight punches

Guzman leaps in, holds ducking Wake

Wake again lands straight counter left!

Has finally found his timing.

Guzman boxes smartly from his no-guard position, staying low,
lands good right to body.

Wake bleeding from nose.

Wake 10 - 9

Wake coming forward; Guzman timing him,
circling away from a low position to his left,
now and then leaping in with lead rights and
big left hooks.

Guzman slips down -- tired?

Japanese commentators comment on Guzman's boxing skill.

Wake pushes Guzman down again -- ruled a slip.

Round Eleven

Guzman comes out more busy. Wake slips Guzman's leads, just
misses with his straight counter left.

Guzman slips on wet decal on canvas at ring center (please, promoters, get rid of these slippery advertisements!).

Referee wipes off the decal.

Wake lands nice straight left

Guzman responds with double right to Wake's body and head

then a hard left hook bounces off Wake's head

Guzman has his speed back -- lands barrage of fast combos
to doubled-over Wake.

Referee steps in as they separate. Lots of damage on Wake's face.

His right eye is swollen shut. Referee waves it off at 2:15.

Guzman jubilant, falls to the canvas on his back in celebration.

CONGRATULATIONS, Guzman!

Wake showed incredible determination to hang in there and make it competitive
in rounds six and seven.

It was for a while -- then Wake showed signs of turning it around.

Would probably have been comeback of the year had he done so!
