Was viciously attacked. They busted his legs pretty bad.

Concluding reports suggest it was a feuding neighbour that did it (or at least arranged it). Bizarre part of the story is it was cos Eamon's kids destroyed the neighbours' kids snowman! Probably all allegedly, mind you.

When did this occur? After his comeback from the last attack?

This thread is confusing, to put it mildy

Magee was badly attacked in 2004 which left him with a broken leg and punctured lung and it was in all the newspapers. However, since then he had a comeback fight in March 2005 and won by TKO.

Thanks for the info guys. You would be surprised at the lack of coverage outside of Boxing magazines, that takes place in the U.S. pertaining to fighters other than certain champions. I would like to hear more about whats going on with fighters such as Magee, but it just doesnt happen.

Here's a good Magee article from around the time of the attack

http://observer.guardian.co.uk/osm/stor ... 34,00.html

...also his WBU belt was stolen recently

http://u.tv/newsroom/indepth.asp?pt=n&id=62658

it sounds like he may be investigated for exaggerating an insurance claim
Detectives said the World Boxing Union welterweight belt, which is worth tens of thousands of pounds :o , went missing yesterday following a burglary at Magee`s Holmdene Gardens property in the north of the city.

On a serious note, I heard recently there is now a major crackdown on insurance fraud, no matter how minor or major.

I posted this a while back, so I'm paraphrasing here, but Matt Skelton said he leant his WBU heavyweight belt to someone for a fancy dress do. He never got it back. His words were somewhere along the lines of "I don't care".

Those WBU belts must cost somewhere in the region of 300 quid to make.
