I got to agree as the ending to that fight looked like Solo was a quitter which I now know wasn't the case. I saw Justin Fortune say something to Parker and it must've been regarding the reff Bruce McTavish who's bloody 77 years old FFS.

Lucky it was a classy crowd cos if it was a normal boxing minded crowd they'd be booing.

IMHO, McTavish should've retired 10 years ago. However, Haumono was up on count of 7, but didn't want to continue when McTavish asked

Parker is a good fighter, top ten already IMO, but I think he still needs to improve to succefully compete against guys like Fury and AJ. The main thing for him is the spotty defense, which I see as being a product of him standing too upright and not moving his head enough.

He's just 24 and I expect him to get better, but right now I'd make him a sizable underdog against AJ and I don't like that fight next for him. I think he'd be better off facing a group of opponents like Fedosov, Duhaupas, and Szpilka before making a jump to the elite level, though if he's getting a huge payday against AJ it may be a good career move even if he's beaten handily.

Big punch from Parker. But unusual the way it played out afterward. The thing that stood out though was that there was no protest from Haumono about the stoppage.

Too often in this region Australia and New Zealand older experienced refs are used. I've been to several cards throughout Australia where there are competent young refs who deserve their time on the big stage. I'd almost garuantee incidents such as this would be much more frequent. Thought solo had a good fight so I doubt he quit. The ref said he counted 10

Agree The ref said he counted to 10 I do agree but when he got to 10 Sol was off the canvas that's what I witnessed

Solomon was off the canvas on count of seven, ref counted to 8 and I then heard Solo mumble "No". Ref then wondered off toward a corner & upon returning in full camera view he indicated to right of the screen the fight was over.
Seen it this morning about 5 times on Fox news/sport

To me it looked like Haumono, although on his feet, was still partly sagged over and not fully erect as the ten count was reached. So he was standing, but not in a position suggesting that he was ready to continue.

It was certainly a strange ending after a solid uppercut. As mentioned above it seemed like Solomon had no problem with the decision and was quick to give Parker a hug and call it a night

It also proves his team need to keep on hand picking his opponents to compensate for his lack of defensive skills.
Someone like Joshua would be a step way too far at this stage of his career.

Watch the video the ref says 10 but no way was it more than 8 seconds unless he started counting from the second Parker's punch landed and not when Haumono hit the canvas. Where was the official timekeeper?
