David Haye vs Tony Bellew coming soon!

Post by big lennox »

Shannon Briggs has tweeted that Haye is fighting someone else next, and both Bellew and Haye are looking to fight in October. So one can surmise that Haye-Bellew is on!

BUM fight. Embarrassing for the sport if it happens. Haye is actually top 5 most exciting heavyweights when he fights decent opponents, but the way he's conning the British public is repulsive.

Huge lol at Hayes credibility if he doesn't fight Briggs after the months of farcical circus the two of them put on.

Gotta feel for Briggs. Don't get me wrong, I don't think he deserved the fight on merit but I warmed to him somewhat and he put a lot of work in self promoting.

Briggs is only in the sport these days for a payday he's not trying to earn, he's trying to talk his way into it. I don't feel sorry for him at all if he never gets a payday without earning it.

Haye will probably kick Bellew's ass, but Bellew will make a fan out of me if he beats up Haye.

Good earner for both guys so can't blame them. Personally I'd rather see Haye lay out Bellew rather than Briggs so I'm not too fussed about this fight. No doubt it'll be another fuckin PPV though. Nonsense!

Briggs maybe should have taken his time getting rid of the last bloke?

If Haye actually fights Bellew there's no way he should even be allowed to face Joshua. It would be bum fight of the year hands down.

Wether Haye fights Bellew or not he would still be the best name on AJs record and the biggest earner.

Bloody ridiculous, this is becoming like a faireground boxing booth, - what next, picking people from the crowd?

Bellew will get absolutely twatted, this is a totally pointless fight.

I wish haye would just eff off now, it's becoming embarrassing.

Yeah, but it kind of sticks in your craw that Haye can take the piss like that and get a shot at the title.

Haye's not a real fighter any more, I don't even think he cares whether or not he wins against Joshua, just another payday. It's a shame, because at Cruiserweight Haye was really exciting, and showed great guts and desire in the ring, but really, his heavyweight career has been largely a farce.

I mean, is Haye even any good any more, at his age and with such a piss poor level of competition, who can say. What's for certain is none of these fights will prepare him for Joshua, or improve his chances.

That's true. You do have to question how serious he is about his 'comeback' with these cabbages he's fighting. Him and AJ would still be a big earner because Haye is a 'name'. Haye should be looking to fight someone like Stiverne or Takam if he is serious but as you say, it's probably just a money inspired 'comeback'.

Don't really get all the hate for Haye.

Serious shoulder injury & retired for over three years, obviously he needs a few warm up fights. And the guys he's knocking over aren't a lot different from the fighters currently getting World title matches against Wilder & AJ. Have a look at them, who exactly did they beat to earn a title shot?

Shannon can at least bang a bit & would be entertaining, Bellew is a Cruiserweight Champion, either fight for only his third sodding fight back makes sense to me.

But he's not calling them warm up fights. He's pretending these are world class opponents and completely ripping of the public. He commits GBH on a pair of part time cab drivers then has the audacity to claim one of them had a good chin, after they took a dive off a jab.

He hasn't fought a decent professional in over 4 years and is going round saying he's the best heavyweight in the world.

If the public are daft enough to part with their hard earned then that's their problem.

When he's facing guys with 33-1-1 and 29-0 records you can't blame them for thinking they were actual fights. He specifically picked the two heavyweights with the most padded records out there.

What if Haye fought Brian Minto instead?

Yeah true but it's their own fault. A quick scan on BoxRec would tell em all they need to know. I hate going to shows and having to stand and listen to all the know it alls talk pish at the bar areas and they only come in for the main event. Most have the cheek to moan if it's an early KO! They get on my tits that mob.

I've always felt that Briggs was just a hired stooge who was put up to give Haye some relevance whilst he was knocking over daffodils.

It's better than the Briggs fight in that I will actually want somebody to win.

Come on Tony.

I'll watch it in the pub, I suppose.

I'd be rooting for Haye, not that he'd need my support, because it's a total mismatch in prospect.

Bellow was bad enough before he won a 'world' title trinket, be he must now be bordering on insufferable as he can walk around Liverpool as if he owns it, calling himself a 'world champion'! :witzend:

Tony Bellew is a world champion. Not liking someone doesn't make their achievements less real.
