I'm gonna put a small bet on postol and hope to get a good return. Crawfords faster and better on the inside but smaller. If Postol can pump that jab, which is harder than Crawford (IMO) and take it in the inside (demonstrated a decent chin against Mathysse) the he can endure and maybe capitalise when crawfords slower down the stretch. Hopefully Postol can find him though.....thats the gamble.

I suspect Postol's style doesn't lend itself particularly well to fighting southpaws, and Crawford will take advantage of that.

That's my suspicion. That's also the stance I imagine he's going to adopt from the get go.

Repeat after me young Skywalker, jab-first orthodox fighters often tend to struggle vs southpaws.... ;-) :TU:

It's hard picking a winner until the night because I've no idea how much weight Crawford will come in over the limit which he most certainly will.

Crawford will start slow but win this fight clearly. This is going to be easy money for Crawford. He is better than Postol and will win this one going away. It may not be the prettiest thing because Postol will realize around mid fight that he cannot win.

styles...Postol seems to be, although rugged, straight up and basic...solid but basic...one dimensional

Crawford is more dynamic and versitile, has better speed, and also has a dog inside....but is facing Postol.

Call it...pickem...Crawford decision in a great fight.

Yea I really hope so too. It's a very interesting fight. He's a classic boxer Postol, really working behind the jab. I hope he can deal with/endure Crawfords speed in the early rounds. I also hope that he will focus the jab to the chest if he can't find Crawfords head in the early rounds. Looking forward to this one.

Clear win possibly by late stoppage for Crawford. I think he's a couple of levels above Postol and I also think we've yet to see the best of him. Looking forward to the fight.

Its nice to see the divisions top talent face off. Nowadays it seems like a gift to get a fight like this. I only wish we could get more fights like this at least once a month.

Good points. Crawford looks pretty natural at southpaw, and think it will be key in this fight. Right hook over Postol's jab will be important, imo. If I remember right Crawford hurt his right hand and began using his left all the time years back, which led to him switching up. It won't be surprising to me if Postol is even or up in the first 5 rounds, but it will be all Crawford as the fight goes on, stopping him late. May be FOTY, who knows.

TC has a good straight left hand when he is southpaw, not great but definitely a strong weapon.. That I think will be what he does the damage with. He's not going to get the opportunity to counter as often as normal against Postol, because Viktor is patient gonna jab and wait... Yeah I think FOTY candidate sounds right.

I personally think it's gonna end up being quite a dull, cagey sort of fight as they're both thoughtful boxers by and large. It might heat up in the latter stages though if it's a close affair and neither guy has a strangle hold on the fight.

I dunno, is he? I mean postol's win over Matthysse imo is better than any of Crawfords wins up to now. Obviously the Gamboa win is a great one but he was a naturally smaller man.

I think both are neck in neck in terms of recent accomplishments. Maquina and Gamboa are extraordinary wins and deserve equal merit. This fight is about the fighting styles as Bob Arum so eloquently pointed out at the press conference. Can't wait... :bag:

Gamboa fornicating sucks! I don't get the hype tound Crawford. He came here to Glasgow and look decent vs a shot Ricky Burns but he's hardly faced p4p opposition and nobody in the class of Lucas Matthysse.

I'll be hugely impressed if Crawford beats Postol though, pickem fight imo.

That's arguable... However, when you take their common opponent, Lundy, Hank didn't perform all that badly against Postol. Crawford murdered him. For me, Crawford is the more proven fighter. We know more about him and has answered more questions than Postol.

Now Gamboa sucks? lol... What do you base this on? Cause it isn't based on his wins over the likes of Salido and De Leon. I feel it's just an easy, unfounded statement to try and give your opinion some type of credibility.

Gamboa is good, but he was totally oversized by Crawford.

Incidentally, today Crawford weighed in 5 pounds heavier than Postol.

Do you remember the odds going into that fight? Asking cause I don't remember. But, iirc, it was a pickem fight on this site at the time despite the size.
