Derevyanchenko looks like a solid 160lbs emerging prospect to keep an eye on... But he only has fought once at 160 vs Ayala. He looked good stalking him around and distance grinding him for 8 round. Maybe didn't seem to have the same pop he usually disaply at 164 or up.

At 164 or more he looks a little more muscular and powerful.

Kid has quick fluid grinding combos from slightly inside the pocket which gives his opponents very little time to counter.
Image

I think there is a danger he overcommits in the lenght of his barrage and gets caught but not sure Soliman can pull it off with that strategy.

Soliman still an awkward & wild windmill. But loss his last 2 fights going down 5 times in the process... He still managed to only lose by SD in his last one vs Wade (questionably going down once). With his activity level there is always a shot he has success on the cards if he goes the distance.

I missed the first fight but saw the second one. That guy Solomon looked like he had no business being in the ring with his knee that bad. He was falling all over the place. I knew it was only a matter of time from the first knockdown. On the other hand like teddy said the Russian placed his punches well and did a good job applying pressure throughout. On a side note they have him listed as 9-0 here on boxrec but on espn said he was 31-1. I'm assuming they included his wsb fights?

Here is Khytrov's fight:

He got a perfect opponent who stood in front of him, wasn't moving his head or body much and wasn't clinching. The only "drawback" of that stationary target was a very good chin.

I wonder who might be fighting Derevyanchenko in the IBF final eliminator? Perhaps Tureano Johnson, who is highly ranked by the IBF? Or will Johnson need to fight Ryota Murata in a semi-final eliminator first?

Khytrov was impressive tonight, it's time now for him to step up and fight someone in the top 10 at 160.

Both Ukrainians looked tremendous. I'd actually like to see them fight each other considering they're in the same weight class.

Im still not that impressed with Khytrov if im honest,he's strong, powerful and mixes up his punches well and it is effective, not much head movement though and his feet dont move that well either IMO,i might be being a little harsh as he's doing the business but im still not converted yet

He looks as if he can be outboxed at the highest level

It is hard to judge based on the last fight, as he had a stationary target in front of him and he was better than that target in all aspects of boxing. Time to step up against a top 15 opponent.

I didn't catch him last night, but after some explosive performances to start his career I think Khytrov has looked pretty lackluster and limited in his last few. Given how Nick Brinson outboxed him for much of their fight, I'm not sure if it will even take someone at the highest level to outpoint him.

I think mediocre trainers like Rosier harm many East Coast boxers. Khytrov would really benefit from a better trainer.

Both are very good opponents for the leader of middleweight division, aren't they?

As a backup plan, yes, but both need to face somebody from top 10 to get a shot at Golovkin, and I am not counting disabled old Soliman as a top 10 MW.

Against Brinson Khytrov had some problems with his stomach in first half of the fight.

One more test it is good. But I think Derevyanchenko ready without test.
Khytrov needs few fights with better opponents and to improve his defense a little bit.

"Ready" is not how it works. With Golovkin having 3 belts, he has to fight mandatories quite often, so these guys need to move to mandatory positions.

I told you about readiness of boxers, not about "how it works".
