What would you like to see our Double Unified Champion do next?

Why no Pac option?

Pacquaio is s Welterweight these days.boxing_rocks wrote:Why no Pac option?

I'd like to see him in with Broner.
Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
I don't know why "A lower ranked opponent, give him a break" is even an option. What do you guys think Dulorme, Jean and Lundy were?
Pacquiao, Thurman, Danny Garcia or if he's gonna fight somebody else at 140 I'd be alright with him fighting Matthysse or Troyanovsky for the hell of it. I expect he'll be moving up to 147 very soon though.
He's already beaten Ricky Burns clearly, and it ain't like Ricky Burns has gotten any better so I don't know why anybody would wanna see that again

... and of course boxers never fight boxers from other weight classes. Do you know that Crawford along with Vargas are on Pac's short list for this fall?Crease wrote:Pacquaio is s Welterweight these days.boxing_rocks wrote:Why no Pac option?

Even though Pac is a welter he should have been listed. In terms of giving TC a break, ANY of the guys you listed would be much easier than Postol.
Even if Crawford Pac at 147 I would give him a very good chance to outbox him.
Troyanovski is a 2nd-tier fighter with his wins coming over scrubs & stiffs. His biggest wins were over a fraud named Cesar Cuenca who is probably the worst 48-0 fighter in history. Cuenca was the ultimate bottom-feeder and it was poetic justice that he lost before he reached 49-0!!![[icon_e_sad.gif] :verysad:](./images/smilies/icon_e_sad.gif)

I'd love Crawford to beat that little anus up! Maybe he should just move up now though? Better fights at 147. He'd probably beat everyone in that poll over a weekend without breaking sweat.Crease wrote:I'd like to see him in with Broner.
Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
I wouldn't mind seeing him beat up broner. A fight with Orozco could be interesting, although I am sure Crawford would handle him.

Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
I reckon Manny Pacquiao will be ruled out as Crawford’s next opponent, because the Filipino wants his next fight to be for a world title and will unlikely make the 140lb weight limit if he’s working full-time as a senator whilst he's in training camp.
Therefore, I believe Crawford will probably be lined-up against the likes of Ricky Burns, Juan Manuel Marquez or John Molina Jr.
Alternatively, he could be forced to engage in stay busy bouts against the likes of Adrian Granados, Jason Pagara or Antonio Orozco.
If Manny gets past Vargas, for the sake of Top Rank, Bob Arum would probably eventually set-up a bout between Pacquaio and Crawford, for a passing of the torch type fight – as he’s going to lose his cash cow one way or another and a victory for the American could propel him to stardom.

Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
Pacquiao or Thurman
There's nothing much left for Crawford at 140. Troyanovsky seems like he's the next best thing but I don't think he'd stand much of a chance and I don't think the fight would generate enough money to make it worthwhile for the parties involved. Broner is going to jail for a month and he claimed he'd never fight at 140 again anyway so what's the point?

Well, I reckon Manny can make 140, unless he doesn't get a chance to train before his next fight.
Granados makes sense to me for Crawford next. He beat the former #1 ranked guy Iman, who would have been the mandatory challenger for Crawford I do believe. I agree with some that said maybe he should just move up to 147. He needs a gatekeeper like Guerrero or Berto for his first fight there though.

My opinion is based on the things Bob Arum communicated to the media this week, after he had discussions with Manny Pacquiao.Badhusker wrote:Well, I reckon Manny can make 140, unless he doesn't get a chance to train before his next fight.![]()
If Manny and Bob have openly admitted their doubts about making 140lbs, then it’s safe to assume that there is nothing wildly inappropriate about my comment.
Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
Pacquiao at welter.
If not then one of the two remaining champions.

Does being Scottish count as a reason to want Ricky Burns to get this fight?lol
Pacquiao appears to be looking elsewhere after Roach's comments today about him only coming out of retirement because of dreams of Mayweather 2
Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
If not Troyanovski at 140, then up to welter and one of the top guys there.

He should try to beat Spence before the guy becomes more experienced.
Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
This poll is missing Pacquiao, Barthelemy, and assorted welterweights. Yet, oddly, it includes Ricky Burns, whom Crawford has already beaten.

Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
Why are people expecting Terence Crawford to immediately make the jump up to welterweight when he told Dan Rafael’s ESPN after his bout with Postol that he would only be willing to face Manny Pacquiao at 140lbs?
Surely Crawford isn’t one of those dodgy fighters willing to face most opponents in a weight class above his own, whilst a select few must come down to his 140lbs back yard?

Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
Just because we recognize there's not a lot of competition left for him at 140 now that he's beaten Postol. Troyanovsky is the only remotely competitive option and even he is an unknown to US fans and would be a huge underdog.Enlightened-One wrote:Why are people expecting Terence Crawford to immediately make the jump up to welterweight when he told Dan Rafael’s ESPN after his bout with Postol that he would only be willing to face Manny Pacquiao at 140lbs?

My thoughts but I'd love to see him curb stomp Bronerboxing_rocks wrote:Why no Pac option?
Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
It seems like the road is paved for Crawford to become a truly undisputed champion at 140 so I would focus on that as it will help with marketing him to the bigger fights that are out there for him. I would take the next 12 months to pick up the other two belts and then take on Top Rank's other jr welters and if an opportunity for a big payday presents itself take it against the names at 147 etc.
Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
Maybe not next fight but what about Mikey Garcia!
Re: Crawford's next fight? Have ur say
That would be a cross between a chess match and two Siamese Fighting fish in a small bowl. Not sure Hitman Jr. will be at 140 long enough to make that happen. End of 2017 seems about right.Bentley23 wrote:Maybe not next fight but what about Mikey Garcia!
Mikey should deal with Postol in the first half of the year first.
