Now, that's not as blunt as saying I am Irish. But isn't it pretty much an admission of the same thing? It's in one of these interviews anyway:

The Good Friday Agreement has given everyone of the North the right to a dual identity. We can call ourselves "British", "Irish" or "Northern Irish". I'm a Scot and I'm definetly British and proud to be so.

Ask supremo because he was the one correcting someone who said he was irish, which he is,saying he is british not irish, pretty pathetic as he clearly has a northern IRISH accentStuarty30 wrote:I'm Scottish/British and proud of both. Sorry to be pedantic here but Great Britain is defined as the following:
"Great Britain
n
(Placename) England, Wales, and Scotland including those adjacent islands governed from the mainland (i.e. excluding the Isle of Man and the Channel Islands). The United Kingdom of Great Britain was formed by the Act of Union (1707), although the term Great Britain had been in use since 1603, when James VI of Scotland became James I of England (including Wales). Later unions created the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (1801) and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland"
Northern Ireland is therefore is part of the United Kingdom not Great Britain. At this years Olympics we will hear more than once "Representing Great Britain and Northern Ireland...."

He's Northern Irish, so he's still Irish ffs
Re: If Frampton Wins....
Let's just do away with all of the borders & silly names & just call ourselves EngIreScotWelshish
On a serious note, who f*cking cares? People need to stop squabbling about borders & religions invented by others to divide us so they can control us easier.
If you like someone more because they were born on this side of an imaginary line rather than a few hundred metres in the other direction then you really are just a puppet of the establishment.
And on that note, good luck Carl. Smash the f*ck out of that foreign bastard

To all intents and purposes, Northern Ireland is a colony, and it is part of the UK.

Why havent u answered my question from yestserday?
I think you are quite wrong - both my parents were from Northern Ireland, and emigrated to London in the mid 1950's, and they considered themselves Irish, I'd bet a pound to a penny Frampton does too, if he was born in Belfast, especially if he's a catholic.

He's a Protestant from loyalist Tigers Bay. He married a Catholic girl. To my knowledge most Protestants over that way class themselves as British/Irish.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Supremo wrote:If you're Irish you have an Irish passport. Not too sure what Framptons stance is tbh. I class myself as British/Scottish. Suppose it just depends on the individual.

Catholics and Protestants have been marrying one another for donkeys, it's no surprise, In my experience, racism and bigotry tend to end at the belt line - I've seen people I knew who were hard line racists, running around after black pussy like it was a 4x100 baton change.Stuarty30 wrote:Yeah I've a mate Mark O'Neill and he's a Prod. Bigotry is vile over here. It's a massive problem. You'd think people would grow out of it but they seem to get worse with age. It's embarrassing.

Re: If Frampton Wins....
I guess I was lucky, my mum's dad was a protestant, and her mum a catholic, he converted to Catholicism so they could marry, so there was little truck with sectarianism for them growing up, although some of her close family, got dragged into the sorry mess of the troubles nonetheless, it was kind of unavoidable if you grew up there in those times. My aunt Lilly who died about 10 years ago, had a paramilitary funeral by all accounts, because her son was shot by the British army and was a member of the IRA.Stuarty30 wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:Catholics and Protestants have been marrying one another for donkeys, it's no surprise, In my experience, racism and bigotry tend to end at the belt line - I've seen people I knew who were hard line racists, running around after black pussy like it was a 4x100 baton change.Stuarty30 wrote:

to be fair, depending on how much of a loyalist he is, Frampton could well consider himself English, there's plenty of loyalists who do.

I live outside Belfast, I'm a British subject with a British passport, but I still live on the island of Ireland n am Northern Irish, I was in France at the euros n classed myself as Northern Irish, Im catholic n live in a staunchly protestant town were many call themselves British, it's just a mindset which we still have to overcome yet, but hopefully the next few genrations will. Anyway cmon the Jackal
