That a little different than Shannon Briggs demanding a World Title Shot and Wladimir telling him to pound sand.

He had the fight....he backed out.....he wasn't crazy about the terms...which were tilted rightly in Ali's favor. So if he wanted, or thought the braggin' rights were worth anything...it would be in the history books.

What's history is that Wilt did what came naturally....he Wilted.

End of story....except for the fictional chapters.

Wilt never wilted you LIAR... He won NBA Championships, won NBA scoring titles, set more NBA records than any other player in history... Let the NBA in minutes played more often than any other player in NBA History... and is the only player in NBA History who dominated on both ends of the court... As usual you have nothing intelligent to say so you offer nothing but cheap shots.

It was Ali who wilted when it came to signing the contract. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF57P1uUG0s

LaMotta was definitely slow, and admittedly was not the best boxer... His talent was absorbing punishment like a sponge and wearing the other guy down.

You're not pretending BuzzBox... You ARE dumb... You said Wilt had a history of wilting which is verifiable BS... He played more minutes than anyone in the NBA year after year... And He signed the contract to fight Ali .

Ali did NOT sign it. And WOULD not sign it.. NOThttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF57P1uUG0s

Sounds like it when Kalan is about. Hell, why don't we just throw in Karl "The Mail Man" Malone & Shaq and just be done with it.

I'm pretty confident that Tim Duncan would've Dereck Chisora. Too big, too athletic, too powerful.

Am I right, Kalan?

For you Mr Kalan, upon your return. A bit of good natured advice.

When your argument revolves around insulting people & regurgitating the same point over & over again..

Then it's time to consider that maybe other people do, in fact, make valid points & maybe you could consider listening to them.

You guys just keep saying things that happened didn't happen... and making comparisons that make NO sense at all.. Ali said repeatedly he would fight Chamberlain... He put on the Dog & Pony shows for the media, appearing with Chamberlain on TV shows as though he were going to fight him... Ali didn't and wouldn't sign the contract their 2 teams of lawyers negotiated and drew up.. You saw in the video a frustrated Chamberlain producing pens for Ali to sign... He never did because he knew Chamberlain would destroy his career. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mF57P1uUG0s

It takes 2 to fight.

My favourite line in a movie is Bladerunner when Roy Batty says to Dekkard "time to die"

Since Louis never fought a southpaw and had so much trouble with slick boxers such as Billy Conn---who hit Louis a ton of shots... and since Louis was knocked down so many times in his career and knocked out twice... how does Louis fare with masterful boxing.. KO punching.. 6'4" X 245 southpaw slickster Luis Ortiz???

Joe Louis rips him apart. It's about levels. Ortiz has beaten monte barrett and tony thompson who were both in their early mid 40s and thats it! When Ortiz wins the title, unifies it and then makes like 26 defences over a ten year period - then start comparing to louis. If he does step 1 itll bea surprise. Step 3 will never ever happen.

That's an emotional and not a thoughtful response... Louis couldn't rip 187-pound Cuban Agromonte up in 2 tries... Abronmonte had been knocked out 5 times previously and had a terrible chin.. Louis struggled to a SD over 200-pound Arturo Godoy.. Godoy was very easy to hit with 9 previous losses and numerous draws... Ortiz is 10 X the boxer and puncher those "bum-of-the-month" candidates were... I see Ortiz having a very easy time with Louis - probably stopping him early.. Louis was knocked down 9 times and was easy to hit.. Ortiz is very difficult to hit cleanly.

Great post. Your knowledge is so good absolutely nobody agrees with you. Keep educating us. I'm going to start following Dominic Breazeale closely. I think he could be a great fighter if it wasn't for his tits. :TU:

A lot of people Louis fought had bigger tits... and a much bigger, fatter belly... Tony Galento for instance... Tony knocked Louis right on his butt. Galento was a fat guy who smoked so much he couldn't talk without hacking... Walcott was a 2-pack a day guy.

You could get away with that stuff back in the day when athletes weren't serious for the most part.. Breazeale wouldn't have tits if he had better strength and conditioning coaches.. He can't box a lick after how many years of this??? I don't know what they're doing over in his camp or where they get those idiots.

That reminds me... Joshua put a much higher percentage of his victims to sleep than Louis did. 100% vs 75%.

There was a general lack of national and international competition in Louis's day. Less than a year into his car he slaughtered Primo Carnera. 14 months into his career he easily punched holes in wild swinging recent World Champion Max Baer. Less then 2 years into his career Louis was knocked out by an aging Max Schmeling -- demonstrating that Louis was seriously flawed, dropping his left hand and inviting right hand counters.

Joshua has no such vulnerabilities. So while Louis was a great Heavyweight for his day, the term "Bum of the month club" was invented to describe the caliber of opponent he fought. You can't point to a single Heavyweight (Conn was a Light Heavyweight) Louis fought in his prime who was a great boxer-puncher the caliber of a Joshua, Klitschko, Ortiz etc... Conn was not a puncher or he would have gotten Louis out.
