fury - wlad, who do you have?

i would have favoured wlad for the july
occasion, due to the obviously amateurish
attitude and shape of fury, but i guess tyson
will have people around him who insist on
him preparing properly for october. so my
pick is tyson again.

wlad talks good and shows determination,
but so he did before haye and he could not
let his hands go there either. he would have
to take more chances than he is able to IMO.

Hasn’t Hayden Panettiere been suffering from post-partum depression since the birth of Klitschko’s daughter in December 2014, which could have affected his in-ring performances somehow?

If you consider the timeline of events, Klitschko originally postponed the first fight with Fury due to “injury” shortly after Panettiere called off their wedding.

A few weeks prior to Klitschko’s November 2015 bout against Tyson Fury, Hayden had to check into rehab to deal with her post-natal depression, which could have partly explained Wladimir’s significant and dramatic dip in form in that fight.

Hayden Panettiere checked into rehab again to deal with precisely the same condition during May of this year and last month’s rumour mill is rife about her wedding to Klitschko either being postponed again or even cancelled altogether.

Perhaps father time really has caught up with Wladimir Klitschko, because he’s a forty year old man with a “lot of miles on the clock”, but regardless… surely the significant and distressing events taking place in his private life would have had some sort of effect on his training preparation and mental attitude for his first fight with Fury?

I still favour Tyson Fury to defeat Klitschko in their rematch, but it wouldn’t surprise me if Wladimir somehow managed to defy the odds, regain his form and reclaim his titles.

i don't know. he is a professional
athlete doing his job. everybody
at any time has something that
could distract him.

Klitchko now almost fyear older, and he was not good in the fights before Fury I.

I'm not sure if he's just lying, or if he actually believes the rubbish about just needing to let his hands go, that he's said after others saying it. If that's all he's bringing for the rematch he's either fight like last fight time or take a total battering. I hope he's got something a bit smarter lined up.

He's already got plenty, and Fury will be taking much more of the money this time, so I doubt it. I think he must think he can do it.

Klitchko has too much honour to admit he was injured in the first fight.

Who has to postpone a fight due to a calf muscle injury, but only by a matter of a few weeks?

Wlad won't be as poor this time, and Fury did as best as he could have in the first fight. Plus he's already mentally fragile without this drug-testing scandal he's got caught up in.

Logic dicates Fury, most rematches statistically are won by the fighter who won first time, as you'd expect.

However, there's a lot of intangible here, not least of which is Fury himself, I've little confidence in predicting the outcome of this one, as I'm not even sure how much Fury's heart is in it, or whether it's all blather.

I'll go with Fury, as I don't know the intangibles, and have only one sure tangible, which is their first fight.

It would seem wisest to go with Wlad to take it.
But, I thought that the first time around. He did his familiar thing, the punches he did land looked the better quality to me, but he wasn't letting them go and he looked like he didn't want to open up like he knew he had to.
He's done the most amazing job of mastering his strengths and weaknesses to be so dominant, yet the time has come, age is creeping in just enough to take the edge off essential layers of his game. He was successful at taking minimal risks while maintaining what he had to do. But he needs to be sharp and assured to do that, and I'm guessing that the edge is worn just enough to leave him in a no-mans land of inactivity.
I'm going for Fury to win against Wlad again.

It's a pretty exciting fight in my book, I really don't have a clear idea of what they'll each bring this time.

Going by the first fight it looks as if Fury has his number but you can't write someone of Wlads experience off. I think we'll see a bit more urgency from Klitschko in this fight which will result in him taking more chances. Fury has good reflexes for a big fella and we could see Wlad tagged flush a lot more and visa versa. I don't think this one will go to the cards. Fury late KO.

BTW I picked Wlad for the first fight so get your money on Wlad this time

There are people here who said they wouldn't watch Floyd/Manny II ...

Yet, we openly discuss Wlad/Fury II, after Wlad/Fury I made Floyd/Manny look like Castillo/Corrales ..
(And don't bring up $, because somehow it's irrelevant to most of you when I'm bitching about PPVs)

I'm not watching the fight live. I'll DVR it.
If the reports say something happened, then I'll watch it.

By something, I mean more than 10 meaningful punches were landed ...

You keep paying these guys the big money we should be giving to Kovalev and Stevenson to fight.

I had the first fight a lot closer than the judges saw it, from memory sure i had it to Fury by a round (maybe two). Hope Fury wins, but I think Wlad will beat him second time round. Time will tell.

Don't see anything but a Fury win. Can't help but feel that most who say he will lose are saying it from their dislike of him and in many cases because they haven't bothered to watch how much he has improved over the past few years. Klitschko has no physical advantages, Fury has the age advantages and of the 2 Fury is the one willing to get into a fight, Klitschko had already become very reliant on jab, jab, lean, jab, lean, jab, right, lean that his height advantage allowed him. Without that advantage not sure he is at an age where he can go back to fighting.
