Very good fight, I fancy Flanagan if it in the UK, which is where it will surely be.

If its in uk Flanagan gets a typical home town gift.

If its in neutral territory Verdejo beats him.

I think I'd go with Flanagan here. Verdejo is not the second coming of Miguel cotto that he was made out to be.

Are you saying there are not home town gifts in the US every week?

Anyway wherever its held Flanagan will win, Verdejo wont be able to keep Terry away with his poppadum hands Terry will be all over him like a cheap suit.

Flanagan has looked "meh" his last two and his stand out win was against a guy who looked 2 divisions smaller and couldn't stand up straight so I'd go Verdejo here, think Flanagan has been flattered a bit...and although I don't see Verdejo as the next massive Puerto Rican star, he has the ability to go a very long way

Is Britain known for hometown gifts?

There's been a few stinkers but I wouldn't stick us in the same category as Germany or even the U.S. Two of the more blatant that spring to mind are Burns v Beltran and Jamie Cox v Obedi Sai (I think that was his name). I remember I was at a Scott Harrison fight years ago and he got a bit of a gift draw against Victor Polo.

Happens everywhere from time to time. Guys just being his usual knob self.

I remember Jorrin Brodie which bucks trend too. How about Sturm DLH in US, or Pacquiao Bradley 1!

Yeah they were bad. Lewis v Hoyfield 1 was a total embarrassment as well. I'm actually a bit worried that if tonight's fights close then Frampton isn't going to get a fair shake!

Dont worry, it wont be close. Cruz will win handily. Hope im wrong, but people seem to focus on Frampton getting W against Quigg rather than the fight itself, and seemingly ignoring 18cm reach advantage and probable weight difference come fight night. Not saying it womt be competative, just that i wouldnt bet on Frampton, personally.

Funny how Americans seem to complain the most about other countries having biased judging, as if judges in the US are notably impartial.

Robberies happen all the time in the US at all levels of the sport. I watched Friday Night Fights from the time I was a preteen, and there was a robbery pretty much every week.

They dont play well with others . Their 3 main sports are, really, played solely by them.

Flanagan has looked half asleep in his last two fights, bored and unmotivated. I think he is one of those fighters who only shows his best game when he has what is perceived as a legitimate threat infront of him.

Shows what i know. One judge had it 117-111 to Frampton too. Away town descision.

U.S. also is the place where almost all the fights that matter are, so the higher incidence of questionable decisions would naturally be higher.

Frampton, Brooke, and Calzaghe ain't complaining.. they got their fair shake even when some think all three lost.

I fancy Flanagan to win. Verdejo doesn't seem to carry the power at the top level to push Turbo back.

Our judges over here are ok, our refs have a reputation for jumping in a bit quick though.

Bumped into Stevie Maylett at my boxing gym tonight and spoke to him briefly about Terry's next fight. He said they're looking at making Flanagan Vs Rocky Martinez.

Thoughts on this anyone?

Wouldnt be surprised if this fight happened for Flanagan, after all Martinez is coming off a heavy KO the division below

Hopefully it happens, he's a decent step of from Terry's recent level of opposition

That would be a poor fight imo.

KO'd in five in his last fight, admittedly against an excellent boxer in Loma but one not really known for his punching power and barely scraped past Magdaleno who Flanagan destroyed in 2.

Saying that he's better than Derry and Fana but really, Flanagan should be fighting guys in the top 10, if not looking towards the top 5.

Not a bad fight. Step up from his last couple.

The Crolla fight must surely happen if he gets past Linares. Biggest payday for both. The two promoters showing signs of working together more aswell.

Verdejo hasn't been especially impressive in the performances I've seen, but I think he can win a decision over Flanagan
