Lewis gave Tyson a technical beating, that is fact. He did everything right. He could not of done anything more technical.

Everything was measured and planned. He took him into "deep water, and drowned him".

Not sure whom you're talking to but a technical fight would include both boxers more than one guy overcoming initial fear to beat up a punching bag. Lennox/holyfield 2 is more apt. Though Lennox didn't exactly get the best of that.

Roberto Duran did one of the best technical boxing jobs I've EVER seen on DeJesus in their 3rd fight.. DeJesus had a hard camp and looked ready at the weigh-in.. DeJesus was cool, relaxed, and certainly wasn't intimidated.. Duran smiled at him almost friendly like.. Duran had 63 fights and was a master craftsman for that particular fight if he ever was... Duran controlled the pace beautifully. He controlled DeJesus with his jab and started to punish him severely... For that fight Duran was the best lightweight ever.

You gave me goose bumps. One of the few things in boxing topics that I totally agree with you.

The Hands of Stone in that Saturday afternoon in Las Vegas Caesar's Palace, was as complete fighting machine as he wanted to be. He was a class above Esteban DeJesus in that rubber match. DeJesus was a fantastic fighter, but, he was fighting a phenomenon. This was one of the great Roberto Duran's greatest performances. No lightweight in history beats him that day.

Not for me... You could sit on Hearns' jab and rip him... It was harder to hit Sanchez, Jofre, Pep, Tunney, Mayweather, and the greatest boxers. They were slicker with their feints and changed their shots up more to keep you guessing. Hearns would load a punch up and you could nail him clean.

the charles/maxim fights were good examples. charles was the harder puncher and was faster, but maxim had a great chin and was a very good defensive boxer, so he had ezzard working throughout.

i can't think of a good technical opponent off hand , but any good boxer against billy graham would have produced a fine technical fight. graham against tippy larkin was voted by the sportswriters as the best pure boxing match of the year. that's one i'd love to be able to see, but my time machine isn't perfected yet.

Charles was 5-0 against Maxim I believe... 3-0 against Archie Moore...2-0 against Charley Burley... 2-0 against Joe Walcott before he started falling off the rails... Archie Moore had over 50 fights, but was floored 4 times by Charlie Burley in a Welterweight fight Burley took on 5 hours notice.

It would be great to see some of those fights... Weirdly enough, nobody seems to have them except the Charles-Walcott fights
