If Allen's 6'3", Whyte looks about 6'2" to me (Joshua's definitely a few inches taller at 6'6"). The only modern heavies who aren't handicapped by that height range are powerhouses. Until the Tall Four retire, at least.

If you see him when he's not talking shit, he's pretty likable and entertaining.BigDoofus wrote:If you like the "street badman" image. Were you a fan of the young Chisora?Rob3_142 wrote:

Whyte definitely bigger than Allen, and actually looks in decent shape (well much improved on his condition when he fought Joshua). Allen says he's bigger than Whyte, but think we just found out that's nonsense. His only chance is to move Whyte around and gas him.
Predicting Whyte KO inside 3 rounds.

I see a lot of similarities in the two. Firstly, like you say, that "street" image. But I also think ability wise Whyte will hit same glass ceiling Chisora did. Above british level, solid european level, just short when it comes to world class.BigDoofus wrote:If you like the "street badman" image. Were you a fan of the young Chisora?Rob3_142 wrote:

Chisora Whyte would be fun, makes sense for both too.

Whyte likes throwing his weight around dont he? threatening to slap allen on youtube, shouting him down and sticking his head into him at press conferance head to head. Think he a bit out of order meself and needs to tone it down a bit.
saying that dont give Allen much chance, whyte is just to strong.

I think Whyte is just a bit of a wind up merchant. I can't see anything other than a Whyte win tonight either. I think it'll be a brave effort from Allen but as you say, Whyte will be too strong.Punchy Joe wrote:Whyte likes throwing his weight around dont he? threatening to slap allen on youtube, shouting him down and sticking his head into him at press conferance head to head. Jesus that reminded me how bad the HW division can be.

Whyte wide on points. Was pretty awful though. Whyte was a tit at the end refusing to shake hands with Allen and basically acting like an overgrown pishy toddler! Allen was Brave and showed plenty heart and a solid chin but he's very limited. Fair play to him for taking the fight on though.freddydoesdallas wrote:Who won?

Allen very tough and a reasonable defensive fighter but looks to lack hand speed and power.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. David Allen - July 30th 2016
Poor fight, fairly low quality. Can't see Dillian amounting to too much, he's a big unit and has some power but a pretty sluggish fighter, can't see him ever troubling the world level guys.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. David Allen - July 30th 2016
Correct me if I am wrong didn't DW say he was going to give the fans the right they want ? David Allen was brave good chin honest with his current ability but that was it. DW could of gone for it that fight was more like a sparring match neither went.for it.

What a crap fight! Whyte sux big time. That fight was just poor.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. David Allen - July 30th 2016
Honestly Allen was a bit better than i thought he could be. I think people have far too high expectations of Whyte's ability, he's just not world class. I thought it was as good as he's fought, though dull, and his best win.
He was pretty disrespectful too at the end.![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)

World class? No chance. Do well to beat fringe euro level bits like Chisora and even Price. Let alone beating Europeans like spitka Pulev Takem .BitPlayer wrote:I think people have far too high expectations of Whyte's ability, he's just not world class.
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. David Allen - July 30th 2016
After watching that don't even think whyte could consitantly campaign at a solid euro level, if he was then he should of got someone at allens level out of there in the first half of the fight, big credit to Allen tho for going the distance
Re: Dillian Whyte vs. David Allen - July 30th 2016
Yeah not an overly inspiring performance from Whyte, and the form based on his most recent two fights suggests he'll be limited at European level. That said, I still have hope for him. Second fight back off surgery, and his biggest test outside of Joshua. First time he's gone the distance too, which puts to bed some worries about his engine.
He still has massive room for technical improvements, and hope we see a linear improvement. I'd really like to see him in the ring with Chisora next. Then we'll really find what his level is.

Not sure how anyone thought that fight would be anything other than what it was. Pretty poor to be honest, but putting the Nice Guy Factor and "Banter" aside, two very limited fighters going at it.

Whyte is just another Chisora to me.
Someone who can't be bothered to get into decent shape & will always fall short when he steps up in class.
