Not sure about FOTY, but potentially the Breakout Fighter of the Year.

He beat two top opponents in 2016, but his wins were very close fights. I think his resume is fantastic but he needs a win this year that is clear.

I thought his win over Santa Cruz was clear (the 116-112 or 117-111 scores are realistic, the 114-114 scorecard is not). The Quigg fight was a bit closer, about 115-113 for Frampton.

Unifying world titles in a division against a 31-0 fighter, then moving up in weight and winning a title against a 32-0 highly-regarded boxer is an impressive achievement.

It's probably too early to even be discussing this particular kind of achievement, which usually is the sum of all efforts in a year. However, Terence Crawford and Carl Frampton strike me as the front runners thus far.

So far, yes, although there is still time for others to surpass him.

I'd say yes. But as mentioned someone can surpass him.
