Mick Hennesey spotted....

Post by MacTavish »

Having a pint at the bar of the Punch Bowl pub in Mayfair (used to be owned by Guy Ritchie) by me last night - said a quick hello but forgot to ask him if Fury Vs Klitchko was ever happening. That is all. :TU:

Lucky you living in Mayfair! First time I've been in it - quite nice vibe.

No idea - only stayed for one and it wasn't my round! You don't get much change from a £5 note in most places in central London these days though...

£4.50-£4.90 is standard for London unless you go to a spoons.

You'd be doing marathon distances in London if that's the case.

The only place you get a pint under 3.50 these days is in a Wetherspoons. I used to drink in them, until I realised the owner was a Tory Donor.

I've never actually been in a London pub! I worked in Surrey and drank there from time to time and it wasn't too bad. Anytime I went in to London it was just for a day trip.

Your average local boozer in London, is now mind-bendingly expensive, it's because the breweries screw them so badly for profits, they have to charge a fortune just to stay afloat, free houses pay a fortune in business rates and leasing the premises, it's cheaper to do drugs than go to a pub these days, it's ridiculous. I've spent 150 quid on a night out in a boozer before, you get pissed and order a few rounds on your card, and 3 days later you're sobbing into your coffee at work when it all shows up on your online banking statement.

To be honest, I rarely go to the pub now, all the decent pubs in Brixton have gone, save for the Albert, but even so, I can't justify spending 7 quid on a rum and coke in the pub, when I can buy an entire bottle for 14.00 quid in the off license. I can easily end up doing 10 large rum and cokes in a night if I stay out late, and to add to the monumental hangover, I've spent AT LEAST 70 quid. Sick as a parrot.

That's scandalous for a night at the pub! I'm off it for the foreseeable future but I prefer some lager in the house and a curry with a nights boxing to watch :TU: The pubs over my way are too stabby for me these days anyway

Sounds like my mates that only with the fitness freak half not being fitness freaks but also being whoremongering powder sniffers! And they wonder why I never go out for 'a few'.

This is all the same group of mates  Just half n half. The fitness ones like a bit of whoring so there's some common ground there.
