Talks are about late 2017, but I'll guess it will be much earlier.
Wilder is getting older, and no one knows how many fights his right hand can survive. So the ~7-10 million purse will be great cashout and retirement money. And, in case the fight will be good, this money can be made twice
Early 2017 also taking Povetkin out of the picture, ever way WBC will rule his PED mess. Unification is much "stronger" than title fight in Moscow
It's not an interesting fight imo, easy win for Joshua, even Wilder Fury is more interesting. I also expect the WBC to have no option left but taking the belt away from Wilder.

You think that a unification fight between two young, powerful, hungry, unbeaten heavyweights isn't interesting?

He's interested only in Povetkin Don't pay attention and don't feed the troll

I'd actually rather see Fury vs Wilder - if Tyson beats Wlad in the rematch, then the winner (Fury IMO) to fight the winner of Joshua-Parker (Joshua IMO). That said, any combination of fights involving the below interest me:
Wlad
Fury
Wilder
Povetkin
Ortiz
Joshua
Parker
Actually forget that, I don't want to see Wlad vs Povetkin again, unless it's with a ref who doesn't allow Wlad to hold.

Oh, Hughie Fury vs Wilder is interesting, if Hughie doesn't suffer from anything, but Wilder is like no match for Joshua.

I'd say it's a toss up. Both have the power to KO one another. It's heavyweight boxing man! Anything can happen!

I'd heavily favour Joshua, much better technically, straighter punches, better jab, better balance and footwork.
Wilder is pretty pants. He's got good athletic gifts, but his technique is godawful.
AJ looks better no doubt. If they fight it's likely to be quite cagey and could come down to whoever lands first. Wilder doesn't look great but he's an awkward big fecker.
I don't see this fight happening any time soon, until then any talk should be put on the backburner unless something can be sorted in the short term.
Likely going to be easy defenses for both boxers from now until at least mid 2017.

AJ has a fight in Novemberish, then the Parker defence (Feb/March?) & then maybe a September 2017 bout v Wilder if they're both still undefeated by then.
Wilder, Parker, Joshua, Fury...as long as they all fight each other I coudnt care less who the boúts are between. Technically AJ seems superior to all of them but as we know with the heavyweights technique doesnt always win out. Im interested to see how AJ takes a shot from a big puncher.

They're obviously trying to build it up and good luck to them I'll gladly get behind it when the time is right, but if they're talking late 2017 there's little to get excited about until next year at the least.
What is the point of delaying the Parker mandatory, Hearn has no intention of putting Joshua in any risk. They will avoid Fury and Wilder until no other options are available.
This won't happen on the sole basis that both guys can punch so both will keep fighting clowns with padded records in Joshua's case or Euro level fighters like Molina and Duhaupas in Wilder's case.

The question is will Wilder keep his punch after second or third hand injury If not - that's the time to cash out

Parker wants more time, like Povetkin also wanted more time in the past when he was about to face Klitschko after like 15 pro fights or so.
