Remember the Briggs fight lol...more disappointing than the jones fight. Sorry to take away from the subject but what actually happened as a result. Did Briggs have some brain trauma or was that just an excuse to take a dive...take a dive off a jab that hit the top of the head.

He took a dive according to the bookies and Green.

Then Green backflipped and said it was a legitimate blow the next day.

Allegations from Jones Jnr camp Green had illegal hand wraps, Jones has also said that the punch connected behind his left ear, not a temple shot that commentators would have you believe

lol that slow motion replay really didn't help the case. When I first saw this I though it was so obviously a dive but because it was so obvious maybe it wasn't haha.

In his next fight Jones went the distance with Hopkins.

IIRC the original corner Briggs had planned didn't pan out because one of them(was it Johnny Lewis?) refused to corner him die to obvious trauma signs he as showing. Didn't dave Latizia also drop him in sparring? Rumours of him forgetting where he parked his car as well.

In his prime RJJ runs rings around almost any man !! RJJ wasnt in his prime in 2009 hence why Greeny grabbed the opportunity. Jones was still quick though. I went to the bout and remember Jones throwing a jab and the murmur went over the crowd as if "holy shit that was quick." Jones wasnt totally shot and Green should get some credit for that win. As another posted, it was a short time later RJJ went the distance with Hopkins, and BHOP showed no interest in fighting Green.

Green got Gary Shaw to try and set up a fight with Hopkins after Green rejected Dawson and Shaw said he had no chance of getting Hopkins.

Absolutely nothing Hopkins hasn't KO'd anyone since he was a MW. Since that fight he has won and lost 3 legitimate titles also Green may of had loaded gloves for the RJJ fight.

Couldn't have been totally shot if he went the distance with world Light Heavyweight champion, could he?

I've considered Roy shot to pieces since the Glen Johnson fight. The 2nd Tarver fight was one thing as he just got caught, but starting with the Glen Johnson fight if he was ever challenged he just turtled up and lost. The 3rd Tarver fight was sickening to me with Roy clowning around and shaking his ass while not doing a damn thing to attempt to win.

I get sick and tired of promoters bringing out waaaay past their prime name fighters to fight a local, who then wins and the media then talk absolute shite regarding the merit of the win. Fact...Danny Green at his absolute best was not half the fighter Roy Jones was, at his best

At first I thought it was sour grapes from Roy but the next 2 fights Siaca and Briggs should never of been sanctioned and there was no drug testing for the Green-Tarver fight despite being IBO rules for all title fights. And Tarver tested positive next fight there's a ? over Green fights with the IBO IMO.

Briggs was medically unfit, hence why the fight changed state.
Siaca was said to have come out of rehab to fight Green

They thought he was washed up & forgot the fact Tarver can box, Tarver never felt threatened by Greens prehistoric fighting style & was very confident before the bell even rang

Green fought tarter and he fought wlod. These guys weren't washed up. No one has ever said green could beat raj if both were in their prime - but Bhop couldn't beat raj at his prime and I think hops career is on par with or eclipses rjj

Wlod wasn't 100% he was coming off a recent suicide attempt when he fought Green, but still good enough to get the job done. Hopkins doesn't eclipse Roy jones Jnr, Green hit Jones behind the left ear u can't ask the man yourself if you doubt it
