Anyone here picking Brook to win?
No sitting on the fence "I can see him doing well" type posts pls, im looking for people who genuinely think he will win
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
I want him to win or at the very least give a good account of himself. He won't win though. I can't even give him half a chance!
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
It’s normally the slick boxer that can’t crack an egg that gets written off in these scenarios. By various accounts Brook can not only box a bit but also whack.
I also think he will take his power up with him, however, as good as he is, I can’t say that he is better than the Russian.
I will go with experience in this fight, Golovkin. I’m gonna take a look at Brook’s momentum too...I think since his last stabbing he’s had 3 fights in over a year, one of which was a total mismatch....will have to check...

.....yes, I was absolutely spot on. Except make it two blowouts, not 1. I forgot about Jo Jo Dan.
When he gets in the ring next month, in the 18 months going back to March 2015 Brook will have fought Jo Jo Dan, Frankie Gavin and Somebody Bizier. I doubt he was punched hard in any of them. Let’s hope his sparring is good.

No I don't think he will win but might lose on points
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
Not a chance, keep having flashbacks to the first carson Jones fight and think brooks gonna end up in a complete and utter nightmare
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
think he can survive 6-8 rounds, not more than that. Khazakstani prevails.

No chance.
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
Cut to ribbons and badly knocked out is how I see it going. Hope he does something amazing but can't see how he does.
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?

Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
In my opinion, this would be the best win by a Brit fighter ever if Brook can pull it off.
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
I am picking GGG to win.
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
Brook needs to hit and run run run, hit and run run run all night, he ain't beating GGG head on.

I think you may be right, it's not like Brook is that quick on his feet.Terminator666 wrote:I think Brook is gonna be kod even quicker than some are predicting - I don't hi k he will get past three rounds max.

Triple G always takes his time in the first round though. Starts off pretty cautious.
Brook should be under very heavy artillery from round 2 on. I'll consider it a great achievement if he gets past the 6th.

Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
Imo brook is the best 147 in the world just wish Hearn would let him prove it. What a terrible job he's done with him. With that being said Brook is getting smashed by GGG. Eubank would have been a better fight for GGG.
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
Going by so many opinions of his impending doom, you could be right. And this about an unbeaten fighter too...TheLeprechaun wrote:In my opinion, this would be the best win by a Brit fighter ever if Brook can pull it off.
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
Agree I would put this over frampton vs cruz, fury vs klit and hatton vs kosta. Just don't see anyway he can do it.TheLeprechaun wrote:In my opinion, this would be the best win by a Brit fighter ever if Brook can pull it off.
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
Above Turpin v Robinson? And Curry v Honeyghan? ..... Robinson is regarded by many as the best P4P fighter ever and he didn't lose a fight for over 8 years when Turpin beat him. Also Curry was seen as the best P4P fighter in the world at the time when Honeyghan beat him.rio wrote:Agree I would put this over frampton vs cruz, fury vs klit and hatton vs kosta. However, I agree it will be regarded as the best win by a Brit in recent history if Brook somehow pulls it off, partly because of the size disadvantage against a top 3 P4P fighter.
Re: Anyone here picking Brook to win?
No. No boxer has no chance to win but whatever the smallest chance you can have is, that's the chance he's got.
Like some others have said I can see it going very early. Brook has got good footwork but Porter was still able to back him up regularly. Kell was strong enough to tie someone like Porter up but he won't be able to do that against GGG. Golovkin's ability to keep his preferred punching distance even when moving forward is very impressive. So many aggressive fighters rush in and get tied up but GGG has mastered keeping just enough distance to get his shots off, he also seems to be very good at slipping out of clinches quickly - think it was the Wade fight when Wade tried to hold him a few times and Golovkin just slipped away with ease.
I think Ward's style is the way to beat Golovkin, be out of range and then get inside quickly, push him back, do your work quickly and then get out again. Brook doesn't have the style, inside ability or physical strength to do that in my opinion.
