Two pretty goods nights in Melb Sat

Post by Grant »

Two nights. One at Flemington and the other in Melb competing for the crowd. Don't know why they are up against eachother. Any ideas?

It doesn't make a lot of sense why Amatruda and Hosking have chosen the same night.

Bit like Hoadley's Battle of the Sounds held at Festival Hall annually yonks ago. Winning band scored return Sitmar Cruise to UK. Maybe both promoters are the only challengers ;-) ;-)
IMO, venues are way too close, therefore should've been disallowed by Vic Control Board. It ain't doing Melbourne boxing any favours.

While I'm at it, care to tell whom you consider best promoter in Melbourne?

Not even sure how one would go about gauging such a thing to be honest.

Look at tonight for instance. You have Amatruda, who regularly puts up big fights in Melbourne, and Hosking, whose cards are usually in regional centres, making his first foray in the big smoke.

It will be interesting to see how many turn up at each event. I think they are probably cutting each others throat here.

'You can run but you can't hide' was a favourite. But it doesn't sound like anyone is running.
