WBC didn't come with a final verdict on Wilder - Povetkin situation as they said. Also Wilder had an 'injury', so it's obious that it's something really fishy and I think they are waiting to see the outcome of Fury - Klit II for bigger and better things.
Povetkin is a very high risk who could ruin their plans.
I think WBC is keeping Wilder safe for W.K vs Fury II winner

Wilder would have a good Puncher's chance against Fury but would most likely get badly outboxed. Surely Wlad retires after the Fury fight, win or lose.

Fury may have lost his hunger. He's in just for money there.jezzamundo wrote:Wilder would have a good Puncher's chance against Fury but would most likely get badly outboxed. Surely Wlad retires after the Fury fight, win or lose.

I disagree. Most sanctioning bodies would rather just not unify. They also prefer long title reigns over short title reigns, as long-established champions gradually make more money and the sanctioning bodies get a slice of a bigger pie each time. I don't think the WBC is saving Wilder for Fury. I think the WBC is saving Wilder forever.

Povetkin should receive the belt by now, Fury and Wilder can fight each other anyway, also if Fury loses against Klitschko.

I think Wilder is keeping Wilder safe because Wilder is a chickensh*t that doesn't want to test himself. Like most of the other guys on the PBC roster
