Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
http://www.skysports.com/boxing/news/12 ... n-sparring
So Price is trying to get noticed by mentioning that he KO'd Joshua in a sparring session in 2011 and now is saying he wants to offer AJ a chance at revenge by fighting him..
Desperate fighters, everyone is just offering Joshua a fight and coming up with daft reasons..

Re: Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
He should take revenge. Hire him as a sparring partner and punch the seven shades of shite right outta him

Re: Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
If true - and I've met Pricey a few times and can't see him making this up as he is a straight shooter - then why not bang the drum? The story means the bout would sell and if Big Josh is they goods it should be a low risk high reward job shouldn't it? Disrespectful to call Price "desperate" I reckon. He is a class act outside the ring and just wants to get back in the title mix.

I didn't mean any disrespect. I just think he should get into the British and European title mix. I think hearn would most likely make a fight with Hughie and Joshua rather than Price and JoshuaTheGoods wrote:If true - and I've met Pricey a few times and can't see him making this up as he is a straight shooter - then why not bang the drum? Can't see people shelling out the best part of £20 for it to be honest, its frightening just thinking what will happen as soon as AJ lands a decent shot

People are shelling out for the dung we've been fed so far so this would be no different.Nightmare Roy wrote:Can't see people shelling out the best part of £20 for it to be honest, its frightening just thinking what will happen as soon as AJ lands a decent shot

Price needs a payday and he's trying to get one. Can't exactly blame him.

The thing is, Price has never been in the title mix. Sparring stories shouldn't get you a title shot. Joshua would flatten him inside two rounds and we'll all say 'what a waste of time that was'TheGoods wrote:If true - and I've met Pricey a few times and can't see him making this up as he is a straight shooter - then why not bang the drum? I'm not against Price fighting for a title but surely he has to have a credible win under his belt?
He's beaten nobody since he turned pro. The man avoided Chisora didn't he? And Chisora is made for Price.

Re: Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
I know if this happened, it would be ppv because Eddie knows how the British are behind AJ. But AJ doesn't need Price on his resume, it won't do him any good going forward, i'd rather him face another top 10 opponent from IBF rankings.
Re: Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
The only way Joshua isn't PPV now in a fight in the UK is if he loses and has to rebuild.
Re: Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
Price would be Ajs best opponent to date by a big margin, he hasn't been in with anyone capable of beating him, had price of been landing at will on Allen the way whyte did it wouldn't of gone past 3 rounds
price probably isn't worth the risk , because of his bad rep of being Chinny and mentally vulnerable he wouldn't get any credit for beating him but they will be more than aware of prices power

Re: Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
Hearns not really interested in making the bout
Re: Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
Price is in the who needs him club. He's been sparked a few time yet he has monstrous punch power, probably one of the biggest punchers in the world, who the hell is going to want to fight him until they have to? All he has to do is land in a punch he is the under dog in and the wheels come off the gravy train.
Re: Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
Price has got some power, and has a got a chance at getting a lucky punch in and knocking Joshua out.
Other than that, very little chance. Price isn't anywhere near World Title level. I'm not even sure he's European level, let alone world.

I agree, pointless fight, nothing to gain and everything to lose. Price is basically nowhere on the world scene, you'd be taking a risk and offering him a huge step up the ladder if he wins. Would be atrocious matchmaking.Finn wrote:Price is in the who needs him club. Are posters on here accountants? Businessmen?
You don't want to see the fight because it's too risky for Joshua?
Sorry but I'm only interested in seeing exciting fights, not whether a boxer picks up another 3-4 million (on top of his millions in the bank already) fighting someone else.

Re: Price KO'd AJ - begging fight
I am saying it would be a very bad business decision to organise a fight with Price, who is basically completely discredited as any kind of force in the division, but possesses a huge punch. Price brings nothing to the table, except the slim chance he detonates a big shot and knocks Joshua out.TheLeprechaun wrote:Are posters on here accountants? Businessmen?

Any matchmaker who arranged a fight like that, is a fool, and wouldn't last long in the business arranging such risky propositions that have virtually zero reward. What would beating Price prove?

I agree that it would be bad matchmaking.
But not wanting to see the fight because it's bad matchmaking is ridiculous.
Plenty of fights weren't made at a certain time because they were "bad matchmaking". The fight sometimes never got made because one fighter lost (Juanma vs Gamboa is an example).
I'm not saying it's anything like those circumstances but it's an exciting who-lands-first fight. I'd like to see how Joshua reacts against someone who seemingly hurt him in sparring. I'd like to see Joshua take a big shot from a big puncher. I'd like to see Joshua ruthlessly destroy Price. I also wouldn't bet against an upset.
It's a very exciting fight for me. I don't know why boxing fans act like a boxers accountant and genuinely don't want to see an exciting fight because it's "bad matchmaking".

According to some posters on Eastside Boxing Forum, its old news and factual.
When you watch Price interviews from last year, hes always calling out Joshua. I think Boxrec Forum has only caught onto this now but Price has been trying to make this fight for a long time now but Hearn or Joshua hasnt even said Prices name.

Mate, it would be a terrible mismatch, it wouldn't be at all exciting.TheLeprechaun wrote:jamesmcdonnell wrote:I am saying it would be a very bad business decision to organise a fight with Price, who is basically completely discredited as any kind of force in the division, but possesses a huge punch. According to what Ive heard, its a straight out ducking of Price. Apparently Prices style troubles Joshua. Before Joshua was knocked out he was wobbled on a few occasions.jamesmcdonnell wrote:Why would they, he's basically a shot fighter.foxdog1923 wrote:According to some posters on Eastside Boxing Forum, its old news and factual.
