Not a big fan, but recognize his talent. Of course there's a possibility he can pull the upset. But, most sane people are picking G.

I'll go on the record as saying that Brook is a top welterweight and he beat Porter more clearly than Thurman did. He's also not much smaller than GGG and is really a natural 154lb fighter who drains heavily to make welterweight. If GGG wins - which I expect him to - it will be arguably the best win of his career to date, seeing as his best opponents to date have been B level middleweights. Kell Brook is unquestionably an A level welterweight.

I already knew how bad Kell Brook was when he made the comment comparing Spence Jr to Jeff Lacy if he were to come to UK. You see its in his

mind already that if you come to England that he has a great advantage! Anybody that goes over the pond to face Kell Brook will get the Carl Froch

What happened to GGG? Did he get old over night? What happened? Did he break his right hand in training but kept it hush hush? GGG is washed

up?

Good thread, yes let's. Kell is going to be flopping like a flounder then twitching like Liakhovich, 8 rounds or so before the hammer drops. This guy's overconfidence and the irresponsible idiot fans are going to convince him he can win a shootout when in fact that's the stupidest idea imaginable. His arrogance will be his downfall. His only chance to last is by not getting hit, and Brook is not the hardest guy to hit. It will be exciting, and memorable. And we can revisit all this bullshit people are trying to sell about Kell Brook, aka victim #36

Okay you're basing judgement off GGGs skills which is understandable. I'm looking at the entire picture

1.) Kell Brook elite elite ELITE

2.) The ref will be looking out for Brook from the opening bell

3.) The judges will all on Brook's side

4.) That ruckus crowd will be anti GGG

5.) GGG getting aclimated to their time zone takes some time

When I visited London for 2 weeks almost for a babe I met online I swear besides the sex I stayed tired and sleepy! Getting adjusted over there

takes some time. Say if GGG arrived only 3 weeks in advance, it's the same as if someone dropped half a tiny sleeping pill in his water come fight time.

GGG will take a beating the odds are stacked against him.

Your conspiracy theory is centered around adjustment to time difference. And minor factors with the potentiality to have slight affects. So jet lag is gonna beat this guy? That or the crooked Brits? I don't think so pal. Crowd means nothing, judges will mean nothing, and no referee short of the hand of God will make a bit of difference. This going to end badly for Kell, Golovkin is going to be sharp and looking for the KO immediately. And sooner or later he will get it. Don't blink. The judges won't get the chance to screw this one up.

I clearly was a Brook hater until the second i heard that he signed on to fight GGG. Now, i'm not going to completely throw away that hate just yet. I still have to see Brook climb into the ring in 30 days and lace them up first. With Boxing's new fad with postponing fights and faking injuries, I'm going to hold off with praise until Brook actually shows up. If he doesn't, then i'll pull that hate back out and it will double. I'm not impressed by Brooks weight right now at the 30 day mark. As soon as i saw that, the odds of a postponed fight just increased.

But i'll give Brook the benefit of the doubt and would gladly eat my words and give him all the credit in the world. If he really does show up fight night, he's got guts and I'll never say a bad word of him again.

I’m not a Kell Brook hater, because I’m a fellow Brit and for patriotism reasons alone, I’d love to see him defy the odds by inflicting a loss on GGG’s record, but let’s face it… this is a mismatch of epic proportions… and I’d absolutely be delighted about being proven wrong about this.

In regards to Kell Brook, there must be a reason why:
• A 12-year pro veteran has only ever faced one top-ten world class opponent
• He was fortunate to defeat Shawn Porter, as pundits from SKY and Box-Nation thought he’d lost that bout
• Brook has never scored a decisive and legitimate victory over any universally-considered top-ten world-class opponent
• Was fortunate to emerge with his unbeaten record intact when he was rough-housed and regularly hurt by the journeyman Carson Jones (a physically smaller man that is also trained by Abel Sanchez)
• Brook has a proven track record of declining or withdrawing from high-profile world-title fights against the likes of Timothy Bradley, Cornelius Bundrage and Devon Alexander (twice)
• Brook is a welterweight and Golovkin is a middleweight, so there must be a size disadvantage?
• Brook is probably fighting for the payday, to receive the same praise that Khan received for facing Canelo and the no-lose situation, as he'd still retain his welterweight title regardless

Its a shame the pussy D. Garcia didn't have some confidence and take a career high payday and fight Brook, he would have made double what he's making but he would rather fight the Guerrero's of the world. This is why Kell is taking this fight, the Vargas fight wasn't the big fight he's been desperate for so he took this opportunity, why give him sh1t for being optimistic?

I am one of Kell's biggest supporters but I cant see anyway he wins this. GGG could beat some LHW's so no matter how good Brook is at WW or LMW this is mission impossible. I would give him a chance against Canelo though.

Yes, and team Brook later had to admit that Spence accepted the challenge and agreed to go over to fight Brook. This was after Brook and his team claimed that no one would fight them. I predicted quite a while back Brook would run up to avoid Spence. I do give him some credit for facing GGG, but what does he have to lose?

Size won't be a major factor, but the skill difference will be. I'm not a Kell Brook hater, just a realist. The reality is that Brook will get KO'd late in the fight after he gets tired of running carrying the extra weight. GGG is the best I have seen with cutting off the ring.

Didn’t Kell Brook only earn $200K when he faced Shawn Porter, whereas Danny Garcia earned $1.5m to face Robert Guerrero, $1.25m to face Malignaggi, $1.5m to face Peterson…

Garcia’s next opponent is Adrien Broner, who himself earned $1m for the Allakhverdiev fight, $1m for Theophane, $1.5m versus Malignaggi, $1.35m versus Porter…

I feel that when the Garcia-Broner bout is finalised, both men would be commanding $2m+ paydays each.

Would Kell Brook have earned anywhere near those sums facing the likes of Kevin Bizier, Frankie Gavin, Ionut Dan Ion etc.?

I read that Jessie Vargas was only offered $1.7m to travel to foreign soil to face Kell Brook.

Do we even know if genuine Garcia-Brook fight negotiations actually took place, because Eddie Hearn, Loeffler and Golovkin were discussing the possibility of a GGG-Brook fight at least six months ago (at 157lbs)?

That being said, when you review all these numbers, do you really think that Eddie Hearn would have offered a “career high payday” for Danny Garcia to fight Kell Brook? The numbers suggest otherwise, especially considering there’s always a premium to be paid to motivate American fighters to compete on foreign soil?

How can you compare Brook fighting nobodies like Bizier on standard SKY sports to an offer to fight Garcia? Are you seriously taking that into account? When you say Vargas was offered only $1.7m even that is more then Garcia has ever earned for a fight as you posted his previous purses, so don't you believe Hearn offered Garcia a “career high payday” ?? There were no negotiation's Hearn made them an offer of well over $3m plus the US tv rights but were told Garcia wasn't interested. There wasn't any offer to Liam Smith btw.

There was an offer received from Liam Smith. I didn’t articulate this clearly – my bad. I get it wrong sometimes.
digzee wrote:How can you compare Brook fighting nobodies like Bizier on standard SKY sports to an offer to fight Garcia?
Very easily. I quoted Garcia’s typical paydays, Brook’s payday for the Porter fight, named Brook's typical calibre of opposition and also speculated about the possibility that the American’s fees to face unbeaten championship-level opponents on foreign soil would require a payday much more massive than any that Kell has ever received.
digzee wrote:When you say Vargas was offered only $1.7m even that is more then Garcia has ever earned for a fight
That sum is comparable to what Garcia already earns against very beatable opponents (i.e.Guerrero) and much less than what he could earn against Broner.

In terms of risk and return, don’t you think it’s reasonable to expect Garcia to demand a much better offer than $1.7m to face Brook on foreign soil?
digzee wrote:There were no negotiation's Hearn made them an offer of well over $3m plus the US tv rights but were told Garcia wasn't interested.
Perhaps you’d like to supply your source about this? I’ve watched Eddie Hearn spouting búllshít meaningless platitudes about this subject matter during his interviews with IFL TV, but his vague claims do not seem to be supported by anyone in Garcia’s camp. I don’t mind being wrong about this.

I really doubt that, but if you can prove it I will stand corrected. Do you think Spence or his team requested the title eliminator vs Bundu so he can become the mandatory? (that the IBF ordered)

Isn't Brook more of a natural welterweight? Golovkin is one of the most powerful middleweights of all time. This isn't going to be Hagler-Leonard because Golovkin is still pretty fresh and in shape. He just plastered Wade in 2, last time out. Brook is going to have a hard time mounting any offense against Golovkin because he could be dropped in an instant, at any time, by Golovkin's far superior power. Brook will have to stay away and keep out of Golovkin's range constantly. However, Golovkin is no idiot when it comes to intelligence and tech. He could just as easily cut off the ring and, if that happens, Brook is done for. How could Brook's management allow him to take such a dangerous risk?

Maybe they know something you don't? Maybe it's GGGs opposition that has made him into this killer among fans and Brook really does have the opportunity to achieve the impossible in most people's eyes. I don't see how Brook wins unless he bring Mayweather type defense into the ring, but maybe he doesn't need it, we shall see.

GGG's ring smarts and especially how well he fights inside are under-rated imo. Brook will be forced to try and tie GGG up, and he will pay for it. I doubt he can get on his bike the whole fight carrying the extra weight either. He is big enough, but totally untested at the weight. A lot of unknown variables, most importantly how well he takes middleweight power. Brook is a good boxer, but he would definitely get beat by guys like Andrade or Lara for example. After he loses, hopefully we can see those fights.
