That said, Joshua being able to say he stopped the one guy Wilder didn't would be a larger hype machine score than pretty much anything AJ could extract from a win over Szpilka.
Completely agree with this. I don't think there is much wrong with Szpilka, he makes the most of what he has got and luck to him. But I think the best he brings is being sparked out in the 7th round. He was leading against Wilder because of his industrious style and Wilder's characteristic laziness and sloppiness. But I think eventually the quality showed and Wilder won.
