Mikey Garcia vs Dejan Zlaticanin
Mikey Garcia vs Dejan Zlaticanin
Dejan Zlaticanin has just tweeted that he and Mikey Garcia will fight on October 15th. Great fight this for the fans. Garcia straight back in the mix after 1 warm up fight is good to see. Another blow for Terry Flannagan being unable to secure a big fight. How does everyone seeing this fight play out. Personally I see Garcia by decision in an entertaining fight.

Great fight. If Garcia is rusty or not what he once was he will lose. Zlaticanin is no mug and will come to fight.

I was a huuuge Garcia fan before his hiatus, I think he'll do a number on Zlatican.

How frustrating for flannagan after warren was saying the fight was more or less done and even mocked hearn for putting crolla in with linares for the diamond title.

Hmm. Not sure. I think Garcia likes to fight at quite a leisurely pace and I am not sure Zlat would allow him that

I take your point, but I think Garcia will still be able to control the pace even against Zlatican (assuming Mikey isn't still a bit too rusty - he probably should have had 1 more warm up before facing Zlat tbh).Counter-puncher wrote:Boxerbeetle wrote:I was a huuuge Garcia fan before his hiatus, I think he'll do a number on Zlatican.

I thought Garcia looked pretty poor in his last fight. I know he'd been out a long time but he got hit a bit too much I though. I don't think he can allow himself to be defensively so open against Zlaticanin.

My own opinion is that 135 wont be much easier to make after a long layoff than 126 was 3 years ago, and I suspect that will mean his preferred output will still be.low
Given that Zlat isn't outboxing him any time soon, I would expect him to push the pace at all costs
Re: Mikey Garcia vs Dejan Zlaticanin
Good fight. Mikey is a skilled stalker who at his best reminds me a bit of GGG, but how does he fare against a guy like Zlat at a new weight, and after a long layoff?
