I do rate Woodhall....gets nearly every call right and is objective enough to point out when a Brit is not performing well without going over the top on the faults...and Richie has been there himself having fought in Seoul and got an Olympic bronze. He's talking from experience.

Fair enough that not everyone likes him but overall I think the BBC would be hard pushed to find anyone better who is not on a Sky contract!

He's so bad, I feel sure Ron is some plant by a comedy channel trying to expose the BBC for ineptitude.

I swear you could get a high as a kite, illiterate street drug addict who had never watched a boxing match in his life to do a better job than Ron.... Someone posted a Ron quote tonight describing a boxers style as 'pendulous'? Very odd description from the King of malapropisms...and that's not even to mention how ugly he is or why he always decides it would help his commentary to insert a large handful of marbles into his mouth before he speaks....

"just doesn't fancy it" that's pretty much Harrison all over. what would he say if one of the fighters needed to be a bit more aggressive given that he himself would stay at a safe distance from any kind of ruck in the ring

I think the only real criticism of Woodhall is this, his voice and intonation are very drony and flat, makes him sound a bit like a moany teenager.
