Luis Ortiz vs. Alexander Ustinov: Purse Bids today!!

Post by Ruthless-RKO »

What will happen? Who promotes Ustinov? Is it the same guy that promotes Povetkin?

Luis Ortiz vs. Ustinov Purse Bid is Won By Andrey Ryabinsky

http://www.BS.com/luis-ortiz-v ... ky--107737

A strange twist in the career saga of WBA interim-heavyweight champion Luis 'The Real King Kong' Ortiz (25-0, 22 KOs). The hard puncher is potentially traveling to Russia for his next fight, because Andrey Ryabinsky of World of Boxing has secured the promotional rights after submitting the winning bid at the WBA's purse bid in Panama - for Ortiz's mandatory defense against #3 ranked Alexander Ustinov (33-1, 24 KOs) of Russia.

Doesn't matter where they fight, Ustinov is terrible. Ortiz will get a bigger check, he'll love it.

Ustinov struggled with a way-past-his-prime Tua. Sorry, but this is not how Ortiz improves his credentials.

Ortiz is a fool. He should have just taken what Golden Boy was going to pay him to fight on the Canelo card. Now he is going to have to go to Russia or wherever for like $400k or vacate his belt and future mandatory status for the fury/wlad winner. I don't know what golden boy was offering him but if it was anything close to that he should have taken it.

The minimum bid was $600,000 and Andrey Ryabinsky bid that exact amount. There was no one else there. Ortiz would have gotten much more exposure had he have fought on the Canelo undercard.

I don't think that Ortiz earned that much. He only got paid $80K for his first interim WBA bout. So 50% or 75% of the winning purse bid amount might be alright for him.

It's 50/50, 300K$, biggest Ortiz's (and Ustinov) purse ever :verysad:
