Timothy Bradley is one of the most underrated fighters now!

Post by psychod1986 »

Before the Pacquaio robbery,Bradley held the wbc & wbo junior lightweight title & also defeated some of the top junior lightweights in the division.Bradley defeated Joel cassamayor,Luis carlos abregu when he was undeafted as well as Devon Alexander, when he was undeafted, and aslo defeated Lamont Peterson when he was undeafted.Even after the Pacquaio robbery bradley, defeated Ruslan & Juan Marquez and ever after he lost to Manny Pacquiao,Bradley defeated Jessie Vargas and knockout Brandon Rios.Timothy Bradley is still active and still one of the top dawgs in the welterweight division, some don't give the man the credit he deserves.

Bradley only lost to Manny.

The Bradley that fought Manny in the 3rd fight can beat anyone at 147.
I thought Manny was that good that night.
I think you guys might be setting Crawford up for something bad.

I want Bradley VS Cotto.
Cotto might be too big.
But Bradley might just destroy Cotto.

Hope he stays with Teddy. It works.

Original post was weak. Here's how I would've written it...

JUAN F*CKING MANUEL MARQUEZ! He beat Juan. Manuel. F*cking. Marquez. Dude was like #2 p4p at the time.

I agree Tim is under rated. Hopefully he can land a major fight soon - he deserves it.

He always was and always will be underrated. Ironically some of that is due to Pacquaio. Many chose Tim to lose to JMM after the KO of Pacquiao. After he beat JMM easily, many assumed he would beat Pacquiao after and he couldn't. Tim is tougher than he gets credit for. I'm not sure I would choose him over Cotto but I do think Tim may be a bit tougher as he doesn't fold under pressure and actually fights better under it as opposed to Cotto who can fall apart when things aren't going his way. And I believe Tim does have a better chin than Cotto.

I'd love to see Porter/Bradley but I think promotional politics will prevent it from happening. I have no idea what Top Rank has planned for Bradley. There's only so many combinations of Pacquiao/Bradley/Vargas they can make while keeping anyone's interest.

He’s not underrated, he’s top notch. A fight with Porter would be fun to watch. :OhYes:

Pacquiao brutally wrecked Cotto. Trout messed Cotto up pretty badly also. Bradley may have lost about 27 rounds to Pacquiao, but he didn't get his face f*cked-up in the process. If Bradley and Cotto fought at somewhere in the 151-pound ballpark, I think Bradley would win about 7 rounds to 5.

Ask some fans, and they will tell you that Cotto was weight drained and Bradley was not. Never mind that Bradley, while shorter probably has more natural muscle mass than Cotto. It's forgotten that Bradley fought at 152 against the likes of Dirrell and Ward in the amateurs. Ward says Bradley was one of his toughest fights.

I like Tim a lot also. Tough as nails. He just doesn't hit hard enough honestly. He also seems to rely on athleticism more than pure boxing skill.

Ramming Speed v Porter would be great action. They are nearly mirror images style-wise.

Yeah I've always referred to Porter as a slightly lesser version of Bradley, but I'd like to see them fight each other to see if I'm right about that.

Damn, Bradley was one of Ward's toughest fights? Now I'm more conflicted than ever.

JMM was #2 pfp at the time? I seriously doubt that. If true, it must have been an artificially inflated ranking due to KTFO Pac. JMM was truly the #2pfp when Floyd came off a 2 yr layoff. Odds were 2-1 in Floyd's favor, believe it or not. Bradley, in his prime, BARELY beat JMM, who was a blown up lightweight. Floyd beat him also, but at least JMM wasn't 40 years old at the time. Floyd shut a much younger JMM out. Not even a contest. Bradley has always been good, but not great imo. Bradley is a top five kind of guy at his weight during his era, but will never be remembered as the best.

For all of Bradley's faults, he has an almost superhuman will which makes up for it.

Marquez was P4P # 3 behind Floyd and Ward when he fought Bradley. Coming off a kockout of Pacquiao is better than coming off wins of Juan Diaz and 2008 version of Casamayor.

How would that be artificial, exactly?
Badhusker wrote:JMM was truly the #2pfp when Floyd came off a 2 yr layoff.
Now that's artificial. Mosley and Hopkins had both recently won fights that should've had them ranked higher than Marquez, who of course also came way up in weight to fight mayweather.

He is a top fighter, but I think he was a bit lucky against provodnikov imo, could quite easily have been stopped, a couple times, don't know why he's not given enough credit.. Maybe Marquez and manny both past their best when he beat them?? Maybe Jessie Vargas a little too green when he beat him?? He's still a good test for anyone!
