Olympic hopefuls?
Re: Olympic hopefuls?
Nicola Adams won ger 2nd gold over Sarah Ourahmoune of France 3-0.
Re: Olympic hopefuls?
Dychko boxed his head off in the first. Wasn't even close. I was a bit worried for him after the first two minutes tbh. Ground the guy down though. Woodall called it as wellDixonian wrote:Good job by big Joe. Ground him down with that relentless ponderousness of his. Weirdly Kevin Mitchell in the Guardian thought Joe was robbed in the first round but that the second round was closer. What the hell was he watching!?
Re: Olympic hopefuls?
He does but one piece doesn't disqualify everything else he writes for me or his opinions. He knew how against the grain he was going with that.MightyWarrior wrote:Mitchell not a boxing writer to be taken seriously at all. He still thinks Manny was robbed against Floyd. Mitchell was disgustingly biased throughout they Haye -Wlad build up and inappropriately moans about scoring too much for my liking.

Re: Olympic hopefuls?
Yeah, but maybe he watched it in slow motion on over ten separate occasions before drawing his conclusion that Manny was robbed, like some on CS apparently didMightyWarrior wrote:Mitchell not a boxing writer to be taken seriously at all. Re: Olympic hopefuls?
I think Mitchell also thought it was ludicrous that people didn't have Haye winning 12-0 against Valuev.
Re: Olympic hopefuls?
For some reason that surname sounds foreign to me (not that it matters) if so, and I'm not wrong on that- I wonder where it originated from.PredatorHayds wrote:Brits I think could medal.
1. Joe Joyce
2. Joe Cordina
3. Muhammad Ali
4. Pat McCormack
5. Nicola Adams

Does anyone know what Adams amateur record is?

C'mon Big Joe!
How do people see this going? The footage of Yoka I've seen suggests he has a good jab and use of range, good power, defence is a little porous and not much inside game. Can Joyce break him down to the body? How's his chin? How did their previous two fights (which I understand they split) go?

Re: Olympic hopefuls?
I had forgotten they gave the other semi to the French fella who probably didn't deserve it. Thats good, I think Joyce would struggle against the yugo fella. The French fella its the same type fight as Dychko, can Joyce chase down the taller better mover.
Re: Olympic hopefuls?
As soon as I saw that they scored the first round to the frog I knew Joyce was going to get screwed unless he knocked him out. But with the frenchman's tight defence I couldn't see it happening.
Shame.
Shame.

Yep - the exact same moment I realised they were never going to give him a decision.clopixolacuphase wrote:As soon as I saw that they scored the first round to the frog I knew Joyce was going to get screwed unless he knocked him out. Re: Olympic hopefuls?
Absolute robbery. I predicted the French guy would win but I was wrong. Joyce clearly won the first and third rounds.dookus wrote:Yep - the exact same moment I realised they were never going to give him a decision.clopixolacuphase wrote:As soon as I saw that they scored the first round to the frog I knew Joyce was going to get screwed unless he knocked him out. Didn't realise this was a habit of his. Good journalists don't make good judges I guess.MightyWarrior wrote:Mitchell not a boxing writer to be taken seriously at all. Re: Olympic hopefuls?
The Olympic boxing will go down as the most corrupt in history.
The heavyweight final the worst decision I've ever seen. I scored it 30-26 against the Russian.
Conlan and Joyce had bad decisions go against them.
Yoka got gifted the worlds now got gifted the Olympics.
Stevenson becomes the new future of USA boxing. They get one every 4 years (Spence in 2012).
Expect him to sign with Mayweather and be a top 10 P4P by 2022
Also we found a new nation in the upper echelons of boxing. Uzbekistan. With Ukraine, Russia and Kazakhstan producing more professional champions will the Uzbeks follow suit or stay amateur.
Also will any of the Cubans climb aboard a speedboat in the next 4 years to dip there toe in the pro game. (Hopefully Lopez and the flashy flyweight)
