David Price keen to showcase power on next Anthony Joshua card

David Price wants to fight on the same card as Anthony Joshua in November and is happy to take on Joseph Parker, Dominic Breazeale or the world champion himself, says trainer Dave Coldwell.

The towering Liverpudlian heavyweight (20-3-KO17) is back on the world title trail after learning that both of his previous conquerors failed drug tests - and recently called for a clash with IBF king Joshua (17-0-KO17).

Joshua's promoter Eddie Hearn appeared to pour cold water on the idea of Price being the Londoner's second challenger earlier in the week but regardless, Coldwell is keen for his man to stake his claim and would welcome a shot at mandatory challenger Parker (20-0-KO17).

Yeah it's a bit of a hiding to nothing the Price fight. He has the power to cause an upset and AJ wouldn't get much credit for beating him!

I like what Parker is doing right now, keeping active, only risk is injury. He's fighting known opponents which is good for his resume. I don't think he'd mind having Pricey's name on there,

It would help build his name with the casuals leading up to the scrap with AJ. Risky ass fight when you're mandatory though and especially when Parker is defensively pretty leaky.

Parker would introduce himself to the UK public as an upcoming AJ opponent and get used to dealing with the time difference and a taller more powerful opponent. Price has loads of power but isn't great and landing with it and a puncher with faster hands really would keep him timid.
I quite like the idea and believe if his team was confident to put him in with Takam a couple of fights ago they wouldn't baulk at this.

How high risk is Price anyway? Knocked out in five rounds, two rounds, and two rounds when he stepped beyond domestic level, and the last time he fought someone with a pulse he was utterly terrified to let his hands go.

Price vs Parker is actually an intriguing bout to me. Like lefty I haven't seen anything from Parker to suggest he's on the level everyone keeps putting him at just yet. A win over Price still won't necessarily make him a world beater, but it'd be one of his best wins behind Carlos Takam.

Price is being ridiculously overrated as a threat. This 'I've only lost to drug cheats' mantra is becoming increasingly tiresome. The fact is he got exposed above British level by 2 different opponents, including the same guy twice.

Yes Thompson did test positive after one of those fights, but the fact remains he got stopped by the guy twice. Straight after those wins against Price, Thompson lost comfortably on points to Pulev, who is a legit world level fighter.

Then there's Teper. Yes, Teper was absolutely doped up to his eyeballs and got popped for about 5 different substances. But for the 4 minutes the fight lasted, Price was getting bashed around the ring by a smaller guy and got sparked out cold from a left hook. Duhaupas fought Teper about 2-3 months earlier and lost a close-ish decision. He went 12 rounds and didn't get hurt at all. Duhaupas is probably top 15 but not top 10 by any stretch.

To suggest that Price is a huge threat to Parker is simply laughable.

I didn't see anyone describe Price as a "huge threat" to Parker, but he would be arguably the 2nd best opponent that Parker has faced. I doubt hardly anybody would be picking Price to beat Parker.

Parker is compareble with Joshua in skills, somehow in power, size, and even stamina he loses the match.
