Purse bids as follows:

SUPER MIDDLEWEIGHT

LUKE BLACKLEDGE (Champion, England) v ZAC DUNN (Australia).

Advice was received the previous evening that Luke Blackledge has relinquished the Commonwealth Title.

Zac Dunn will now be given an opportunity to make a match against another approved challenger for the vacant Title.

Kerry Hope, coming off a loss to Vijender Singh in India, is putting his hand up to be in the other corner.

Barry Michael:

"Some big news coming soon about Zac Dunn's next fight which will put us one step closer to a WBC final eliminator in the new year".

"WBC world title next year. This next fight will be a major move against a quality boxer".

Good news hope Zac handles the step up. The Findley fight has me worried but he prevailed ,hopefully that was just a bad night n the office.

He'll need to improve a lot to win the WBC title.

I've noticed improvement in Dunn over his past few fights. He hasn't plateaued yet.

Dunn's next opponent won't be Kerry Hope. Hope is fighting Bilal Akkawy on October 29th at Homebush.

I think Dunn learned a lot from the Bursak fight and has improved since.

Maybe, but he went life and death with gatekeeper Edwards and his other opponents were mediocre. What exactly would you say he's improved?

Dunn is fighting more side-on, more of the time now and presenting less of a target to hit than he used to. Earlier he fought very front on and was more hitable.

When did Dunn fight Edwards?

Derrick Findley is who I meant...I mixed him up with Dereck Edwards.

Dunn was pretty green going into the Bursak and Edwards fights, so I'd expect him to eventually improve on that form, although his recent opposition has been pretty mediocre so it's hard to tell what comes from improving and what's down to him fighting at a relatively low level.

Liam Cameron is a pretty skilled boxer on the Commonwealth level, although he seems to lack power and I think Dunn should be able to bully him to a decision. Incidentally, Cameron lost recently to Luke Blackledge, and that's someone I'd love to see Dunn in with.

Lets get real here.Dunn is a small supermiddle and has been put down by middleweights like Bursak and cameron is a big super middleweight who is hungry.Iv watched most of dunns fights and he as been looked after.Hes a decent fighter but very beatable and Cameron as the tools to do it.
When he fought Blackledge that was a bad performance probably worsed he as ever performed bot they didnt want a rematch and British boxing is alot better standard so hope all the English who live in melbourne come to the show
